Per this <a href="http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=40915277&replies=0">forum post</a> on <a href="http://vnboards.ign.com">IGN's forums</a>, this month's issue of <a href="http://www.cgonline.com/cgm/">Computer Games Magazine</a>, page 52, has reported that <A href="http://www.troikagames.com">Troika</a> is working on a CRPG adeptation of Gary Gygax's adventure, <i>Temple of Elemental Evil</i> which is to be published by <a href="http://www.infogrames.com">Infogrames</a>.

<br>
Again, there is no official announcement from either <a href="http://www.infogrames.com">Infogrames</a> or <A href="http://www.troikagames.com">Troika</a>, so other than the article in <a href="http://www.cgonline.com/cgm/">CGM</a>'s January issue, there is no verification on this news.

That should be interesting, given that the original adventure was quite fun to play through. I think I still have it somewhere.

It's true that the Temple of Elemental Evil mega-dungeon is one hell of a ride, but it still is just a dungeon, which will provide more opportunities for monster-hacking and the odd puzzle than all the dialog and NPCs and all that other crazy shit we're used to getting from Mr. Cain. And also, if they're doing a D&D game, then they're probably doing it for Infogrames. And If they're doing an RPG for Infogrames, they might just have BioWare give "creative input" on the game or something, a prospect that terrifies me.

As far as I know, it is just a huge dungeon, sort of an analog to Undermountain.

And what could be even worse: What if, like Looking Glass, Troika is basically building a really large and involved mod for NWN...
