Just when you thought you were safe from the stupidity, Bethesda has released information on the second of their downloadable content packages, The Pitt, through OXM. Computer and Video Games has some <a href=http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=208264%3Fcid">information available</a> from the magazine. Taking place in the ruins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, The Pitt features more of what everyone loved about Fallout 3:
<br>
<blockquote>
<br>
For the first time players will be able to interact with Raiders other than by fighting them, says the mag, and one major quest has you taking on the role of a slave, investigating rumours that the Raider boss has found a cure for mutation.</blockquote>
<br>
Oh wait, maybe Bethesda is changing...maybe they've found the spirit of Fallout.
<br>
<blockquote> The Pitt consists of a large 'dungeon' area, an abandoned steel yard, as well as a settlement divided into two halves; Downtown, occupied by slaves, and Haven occupied by their masters.
<br>
[...]
<br>
Side quests and unique items are promised, naturally, including the fearsome-looking Auto Axe, which a bit like a chainsaw crossed with a Black & Decker hedge trimmer.</blockquote>
<br>
Nope. More dungeons and goofy weaponry.
<br>
<br>
Check out NMA for a few screenshots, including one of <a href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=3505">the Shoveler wielding what appears to be the "Auto Axe"</a>.

So... it's another mini quest area with a dungeon and some NPCs that aren't trying to kill you?

It looks good.

Maybe throw in some vegetables.

EDIT-Actually it is disgusting. It needs to filled on the inside with something besides cheese.

Well you have to give them credit for giving you more ways to interact with raiders.

Well more that one way ...

Its DLC and so we really should not expect much in terms of how big it should be, at least is not another "rails shooter" like OA but I am not getting my hopes up in this.

Bethesda has just recently upgraded her idea of choices and consequences to something that involves at least two factions the player can join and play with. It's not much but at least is a step forward.

I was being sarcastic. By more ways to interact I've meant silly weapons, not that F3 will somehow become less shitty - it is impossible.

you could talk to the raiders in Fallout 2. Khans and whatever the other group was named. Snakes? Rippers?

Of course you could, before bethesda, there were more ways of becoming evil in the fallout world besides eating corpses of your fallen foes.
