The <a href="http://nwvault.ign.com/index2.shtml#newsitem1037070168,96697," target="blank">NWVault</a> reports that they've received information on the possible contents of the upcoming Collector's Edition of Bioware's Neverwinter Nights.

Now, that sounds interesting and all, but what I want to know is where the 'game<b>play</b>' is on that list? If there's one thing missing from NWN, that would have to be it. I'm sure every single one of NWN's collectors would like to have that as a part of their ensemble.

Hey, no mention of the Official Builder's Guide.

"Collector's Edition"...I remember when that used to mean something, rather than "We're going to try to fleece the fanboys again into buying the game another time, and more people into the already overpriced game, by releasing this product with a few shitty trinkets."

Hell, Ultima did that all the time. Origin wasn't crass enough to call it something special or sell it outside of the norm. The Dragon Edition of UIX had the usual freebie trinkets, but it also had the older games included (in case you think UIX turned out to be shit, like most who have played it).

Plus, if you've read the Amazon.com reviews about the "Official Builder's Guide", it's complete shit. I wonder if they worked on it, too, for 5 years as well.

Behind you.
You'd think they'd at least wait for Witchwork to be done and include that in there with it. That is, assuming Witchwork is good enough to save the title's claim for having an "exceptional single player campaign".

Oh don't you worry about that, Saint. This probably won't be the last Collector's Edition. They'll probably release a "Game of the Year Edition" some time in the future, that will probably come with the Witchwork addon. And shortly after, you'll see a "Gold Edition" that will probably be a 2 in 1 package (costing 15 dollars more than usual) with the Expansion Pack of NWN.

And 6 months after, they'll release a Platinum pack with all the stuff in the Collector's Edition, the witchwork addon, and the expansion.

Valve is still doing it.
