Game Industry has written a shortish review of Temple of Elemental Evil, giving it much praise and a whopping 5/5 gems - probably a bit too high, but what the hell. Here's a clip:

The interface for the game is very much like most RPGs these days. You get a top-down view of the action, like Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale. However, unlike Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale, there is a lot more 3D animation in Temple. Butterflies flutter with the breeze, a giant water wheel lazily turns and smoke rises in great white plumes from the many houses in the first village you find. Your characters also look 3D. As you change their outfits, they change their appearance, with different color cloaks or robes trailing behind them as they travel.

Yeah, I wonder why they look 3D.

The state of insanity.
Heh. The reviewer was probably just happy to see a decent CRPG for the first time in awhile and gave it the score he did just for that reason. ;) Either that or he's porking one of the Dev's daughters.

5/5 for audio? The music and the sound effects were fine, but the voice acting definetly should have knocked it down a gem or a half.

HUAH! Anywho voice acting sucked ass. We all agree I hope. But the sounds of the environment and enemies were cool.
