[ Review ]

In case you were wondering what this game called Lost Empire, supposedly a 4X space conquering game, is all about, then read our detailed review or just jump to the end to read the conclusions. One of the nicer points about this game is something most other games of this sort horrbly fail at, namely a sensible diplomacy screen:

It lists several factors that define your current relationship to an other player and it makes it very easy to grasp why things are improving or worsening. After all the failed attempts to reduce micromanagement this is finally a part where in my opinion the creators of the game were successful. In fact, I think this is the best diplomatic screen I have seen to date.

However, not all is well with this game, so read on here and tell us your opinion!

Perhaps it needs more dragon copulation to truly be a sexy review.

About the game, I'll probably hold off until Immortals instead of grabbing this one. There just doesn't seem to be a strong reason to get it when I still haven't exhausted GalCiv2 (or the expansions). SE5 is waiting on the pile until further patching, which is likely where this one would end up.

This comment which I deleted (twice) was the result of my better part finding out how to post with my account... Doom is near!

The patch for SEV coming out probably today is going to make the game mostly as playable as it ever will be. Grab either the balanced mod or the DevNull mod for better AI (or rather *existing* AI) and play it.

I recommend: medium sized galaxy, no neutrals (that's important) and 5 to 7 AI all versus you and set on hard. This'll give an interesting challenge and you'll need quite a few tricks to survive.

And yours can't? Man, the state of public education in Australia must be truly awful if young men are not being taught basic skills.

See, that happens when foreigners try to use certain turns of speech without knowing them *exactly*. Even google corrects 'my better part' to 'my better half' and links to this nice explanation http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/my-better-half.html.

But this is also precisely why I urge you guys to proof-read my reviews. I might be producing more such hilarious mistakes there, but there they are more visible to the 'uninformed' public visitors. (uninformed about the fact that English is my fourth best language).
