Per <A href="http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2911851,00.html">this story</a> on <A href="http://www.gamespot.com">GameSpot</a>, the <a href="http://www.interactive.org/default.asp">Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences</a> has announced their award winners for last year. Here's the fun part:

<blockquote>Computer Role-Playing Game of the Year - <b>Neverwinter Nights</b></blockquote>

Oddly enough, <A href="http://www.gamespot.com">GameSpot</a> even made the comparason of this event to the <A href="http://www.grammy.com">Grammies</a> which I did when I reported on the announcement. Then again, I'm not sure they did it to be degrading, which I did.

Thanks <b>Spazmo</b>!

The Grammy Awards suffer from what I call the "American Highschool Popularity Syndrome". Only the shitty, undeserving, but popular (unsure why) groups win any awards. Awards of acceptance, fame and glamour.

It's like how the really smart, alternative guy never wins anything.

Every once in awhile, a posterboy for the geek squad will win a 'pity' award even though in comparison to the other 'geeks', he'd look like the worst candidate to win any award aside from the Rotten Tomato award. Moby rings some bells.
