It felt like a bad game to me. It was just seriously dull.

I quite enjoyed it too, theirs a horrid interface and a pathetic story but theirs a great core of a game buried underneath. If you could acheive a balance between freelancers ease of use/decent combat & x2's trading/factory sytem & cap ships... You would have something on a par with Frontier. Of course you would still need a decent plot.

Yeah, you might as well forget X2 unless you have a flight stick. Their controls for mouse and keyboard use are a JOKE. Makes me wonder why they even bothered implimenting them since they suck so bad.

Personally, if it had a control scheme like Descent 3 or Freelancer, then it wouldn't bother me.

The game just had no spirit. As well as slicker controlls, maybe some character development and surface interactions, (and those awesome Blake 7-styled imperial couriers/traders from Frontier.)

I still got a lot of play time out of X2 though.

Loved it despite it's flaws. Even better with the v1.4 update.
