Following on from this thread... Behold the 16 GB Codex Troll USB 3.0!
Measurements shown above are in mm, imperial American scum can learn2math. But it is larger than a normal USB, with his arms effectively making him almost 3x as wide, meaning he'll block nearby USB ports...
... which somehow seems appropriate for a Codex Troll.
But obviously means this is more a novelty than handy drive as such (unless you've always got spare room around your ports). He's made out of a pretty robust plastic that's unlikely to snap easily too (at least, that's what the sample I received demonstrates).
The minimum order is 100 units so to really make this work, I'd need at least 50 people wanting to buy one. That wouldn't quite cover costs but would be enough interest for me to take the risk.
At $30 USD each it includes postage to whatever hell-hole part of the world you're living in.
And just incidentally the 8 GB Drive option (who wants an 8 GB USB?) was $25, while the 32 GB would've been $40 (which is a bit on the high side $ wise).
I'd also run this as a fundraiser similar to the KickStarter drives, so you'd get 1x 16 GB USB for each $30 you donate, but you'd also get potato to spend on ad-free as well (at 2 potato per dollar, which for $30 would get you +3 months ad-free Codex time as well).
If successful (IE: we sell all 100), then it might be something we do annually as a fundraiser thing, which would allow us to try some other designs too... Like perhaps a whole series with modified versions of these:
