wait, why is this supposed to be shit?

It's an FPS released after the year 2004.

fixed

Hmmm, Crysis... STALKER... Half Life 2 Episode 2... Bioshock... Modern Warfare... TimeShift... Medal of Honor Airborne... there's some good in there, for sure.

I think my main point was the cynicism started as soon as the Xbox started taking PC exclusives away.
Your list has some merits, mainly Stalker and Crysis, but you talk as if this cynicism hadn't a reason to be, when the list is full of games on quality of Doom, Duke Nukem 3d, Blood , Heretic, Quake, Hexen, return to Castle Wolfenstein, Jedi Knight, Jedi outcast, Dark Forces then you can say people that expect a modern FPS to be shit are crazy, right now, there isn't anything ridiculous in assuming a modern game is just a shitty Modern Warfare rip off. Nowdays, if you want a single player shooter, good luck, that is the only reason I'm paying any attention to this.

It's an important step in the evolution of the industry. Soon they will start selling boxes of overpriced crap for games that don't even exist.
I'm sure they'd find a lot of customers on the Codex since so many people here have box fetishes. 'Unnnnghhh reaaaaal cloth maaaaap!" *FAP* *FAP* *FAP*

I still have some very slight hope this might be good. Wolfenstein 2009 was deceptively good after all.

Beth sure knows how to make nice trailers. The nicer the trailer, the shittier the game?

:what:

First off... awful cover of Nowhere to Run. And wtf is going on? So when exactly is this game set? An alternate timeline 1960's if the Nazis had won? Seen it in Fatherland or read it in Man in the High Castle. And how do they get 21st+ century tech into the 1960's? Or is this game actually set in the 21st century... but then... how is that kooky doctor still alive? WTF is going on here?

It's the 1960s.
Wolfenstein Nazis already had cybernetic augmentation in the 40s, so I don't see the problem with all this futuristic stuff considering how ridiculous Wolfenstein already is.

Well going from a few dudes with metal and chain guns grafted on to them to vertibirds and cybernetic attack robots we don't even have in 2014 seems a bit of a leap for 20ish years.

No, but that's mostly due to ethical concerns. I'm sure it's possible now and probably has been for awhile.

Wolfenstein has always been about crazy shit for the time frame (or reality). I fail to see how that is anything near a valid complaint.

You fail to see it 'cuz you're just perpetually butthurt at me. Some wacky steampunk cyborgs is one thing, this shit just pushes technology ahead a good six or seven decades.
