Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
New Vegas Pacifist playthrough, so far so good. Managed to reach the strip at lvl 2 though.
I really enjoyed my pacifist playthrough. People told me it was just a gimmicky way of playing the game, but I disagree. It's a totally legit way of playing the game. I even played it as a total dick character. I posted my end stats in some thread here on the Codex some time ago.

Yeah, I do remember that post. How long did it take you though? It looks to me like I'll be done here damn quick if I bother to put some points in sneak.

It took me around 30-32 hours, but I played on Hardcore so I had to run like a coward a few times. But I also tried to complete some quests that I thought would be unsolvable without violence. Come Fly With Me is one example. Another one is the quest where a shootout goes down between two factions. I just stood there, and the ones I supported annihilated the other side. Half the fun was acting like a dick but running away or hiding whenever shit was about to get down.

You could easily complete the main story without any combat in less than ten hours. That was my intention at first, then I ended up experimenting my way through a lot of quests.

Din's Curse.
I'm experimenting with different hybrid builds.
Sadly I forgot to back up my saves when I formatted so I have to re-unlock hardcore characters.
There is an interesting mod that changes the masteries and synergies of the various skills and makes for some pretty interesting builds (http://www.soldak.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2266).

Man how I want a Depths of Peril game with Din's Curse mechanics...

funny you should mention soldak im mucking around in drox operative after finding out there was a new patch; still a solid little game

i know theres a few haters but it is what it is and its a pretty great stoner game tbh

Finished Metro: Last Light.
Anyone who recommend russian voices should burn in herr. Except of 2 people rest is bland and lifeless (especially kid that you escort till the endgame). Not to mention that not all bonfire chats are subbed so you miss stuff.
Thanks idiots. Go fuk yerself :2/5:

Game is worse than Metro2033. linear sneaking, not much to shoot. Yeah, it's like Thief 1/2 where great combat has no use.
If you want to shoot more go play DLC, especially Heavy Squad that's literally raining leads. Well thanks but no.

But I loved ending. No matter if Bad or Good (only difference is if bunker and Artyom survive) communists always die.:incline:

Other game on my recent attention span is Din's Curse. That game refresh your fun with h'n's genre. Play Paladin+Fire Mage. Neat combo so far.

I have tried Drox Operative but for some reason I can't get into it. I would say it trying to do too many things and the overall experience feels diluted and kind of boring.
Maybe it's just me though.

I'm having fun with Hunter/Magician.
Traps, Lure to group monsters, Light Touch and some good defensive options with Magic Shield, Bliding Flash (don't use with fire trap cause the burning will negate it) and Teleport for when you really have to go.

Driftmoon - fun, simple, very colorful. I needed something light hearted after so many gr1md0rk rpgs.

Finished Dead Space 2.

Pros:

- Competent technical side: stable 60 FPS (via Nvidia options, game runs in 30 FPS by default), no crashes, it controls much better out of the box than DS1.
- Nice graphics: simple but well done.
- Basic gameplay is actually p. solid: it's "open new room, get ambushed by negromorphs" as before, but quite well-done: enemies are varied, they attack in waves of different types (so you have to switch weapons), using telekinesis and stasis is essential, shooting feels satisfactory, you have to keep calm and exterminate - mindless rush will get you killed most of the time.
- Some enemies are really fun to kill (negroraptors, exploding babies).
- The game has good flow: you learn about world / plot not only from logs, but also events you witness, you don't leave the game when accessing inventory / logs, which keeps you immersed, etc. It's just you against the negroes all the time...

Cons:

- The hacking minigame is almost impossible with keyboard / mouse, and extremely easy with an analogue gamepad - maybe that's just me, but I doubt it.
- Shopping system feels weird at first (access to most weapons / items from the beginning, modified weapons being free of charge while basic models requiring money) - you get used to it quickly, but I prefer the classic "find stronger weapons as you progress in game" model.
- Crawling through shafts is pointless. PROTIP to the devs: either add enemies + shooting there, or remove them altogether.
- Boss-battles / on rails segments are meh: not fun to play, require many retries just to memorize the correct pattern, regular encounters are more fun.
- Some weapons (sniper rifle, flamethrower) are much less useful than others (rifle, THE force gun).
- Too much of sick / gruesome shit - it works only as cheap shock value, the terror I felt in some areas of DS1 is entirely gone in DS2.
- Plot is p. meh and all this guilt-related "I sent my girlfriend to her death" stuff gets tiresome p. quickly.
- The game is very derivative: gravity gun borrowed from Half-Life 2, menus from Metroid Prime... You just keep thinking "I've seen this shit before".
- Final part of the game is p. horrible:
a) adding a regenerating negromorph would've been an interesting idea, if not for the fact, that: it regenerates way too fast, forcing you to keep running around like a retard, it's more irritating / tiresome than threatening, fighting against huge regular mobs is much more interesting,
b) final boss battle is shit: she can one-shot you when you get too close to her (bad idea IMO), and regular enemies work as a swarm, holding you in one place so the boss can get you easier (even worse idea IMO). Simple solution: stay in one place, keep blasting everything around you with the force gun while healing yourself. Majestic.

tl;dr

:3/5:

I would've given it a 4, if not for the shitty final part (Chapters 14-15). Tough luck, niggers (devs, EA). And I'm not touching DS3, thank you.

1) Trying Ironman of Temple of Elemental Evil. Trying being the keyword here. Not at all sure why I would do this now.
Neutral evil beginning. Over and over. Not using Co8 due to crashes.
Different than a no-fear normal mode that's for sure.

Stupid me tries to sleight of hand Ol' Burne. Rec'd Rep title "Butcher of Hommlet".
Having Terjon as an enemy not the best idea for level 3 party.

2) Knights of the Chalice. So good.
3) D:OS : still slogging along every fews days.
4) WL2 : same as above
5) Dark Sun : SL - never did try this one out past intro. Might be better than I thought, too early to tell.
6)....So many games in progress so little time.

Playing too many games.

- King's Field (2) on the PC with a PS3 controller. It's good. Ugly as sin, but good.
- Disciples 2. Don't like it as much as 1 (which doesn't work on my rig anymore for some odd reason) and had to replace the very forgettable music with 1's. Other than that it's great.
- Grimrock 2, currently in the cemetery.
- Alien: Isolation. Still not finished, been waiting for my voice to get better before I resume streaming (I'm at the end).

I found a boxed copy of Megaman Starforce 3 for the DS for $25 on amazon so I got that and I've been loving it a lot more than last time I played it. Especially how utterly random the noise feature is. I just got one of the strongest weapons in the game from a random boss battle in a early on area. Definitely recommended but I would suggest playing or looking up the first game's plot.

I have Divinity: Original Sin installed, only got to second area, but I am prioritising Wasteland 2. I'm about to head to California.

I've got some Mad Monk shit left to do like decide whether I'm going to help them soldier boys or not. I also still have the Red Baychowski quest in Damonta but I can't find him anymore, I think he may have been killed by a robot.

I've finished the Prison and it annoyed me that the pig quest failed because the Skorpions decided to kill the farmer. There was no indication of a time limit on that one.

Interesting. Would you say IT IS POSSIBLE TO TOTALLY AVOID COMBAT IN FALLOUT NEW VEGAS? I haven't tried but I assumed there had to be a point you had to kill someone or something, somewhere.

Combat? Seems Avoidable. Killing? Not quite.
I had Benny killed in his sleep, which didn't count in character's kill list.

Finished Doom2. What a snorefest... If I look up from the design or map creato PoV - it looks nice. But playing these things was tedious, quite often. First few maps and second to last map (29) were coolest.
Even Plutonia or Master of Doom were better.

Hmm...I thought Doom 2 was overall the best in the series (I played them all quite recently), and a marked improvement over Doom 1.

Doom 2 has really subpar level design compared to Doom imo. Plutonia has far superior level design as well.

MM1, slowly progressing, slowly.
Just finished Geneforge 4 so loaded up the 5th. Will probably start on Exile afterwards. Any other Vogel games which are interesting besides nethergate? Avernum doesn't really seem too interesting to me, but could you recommend one of the trilogies if anything?
Serious Sam: First Encounter on serious.

"Start on Exile.." as in 1995 version or 2012 version?
I enjoyed 2012 version and can recommend that version. Not sure about 1995 version but apparently they are similar. If you don't know the 1995 version maybe the differences do not matter as they did not for me. Steam says I have 237+ hours on that game. wtfhappenedthere
