This thread is hilarious. I love how people think things like the politics of state's rights are completely separate from the system of racist slavery. And vice versa. The two are intertwined.

I also find it hilarious that people think the North went to war to free slaves. roofles!

Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
American Civil War is 100% the worst game setting imaginable. It's difficult to emphasise enough that nobody outside the US gives a shit about your civil war obsession. Just like WW2 games, your myopic obsession has ruined them all.

A war game is fun due to the options in strategery involved, dick for brains. You don't play the fucking game to root for someone.

Of course you play the game to root for someone. It's a simulation of a real period of history, you can learn about and participate in that important event. If you are only here for strategy or tactics, with no higher purpose or interest, then you are the one with dick for brains.

Go play chess or solve maths problems in longform for a few hours instead, you subhuman idiot.

If you do you are brain damaged, don't know what to tell you. I guess you won't like settings in the east then or strategy games that don't have a historical basis, because who would you give a shit to root for

As for civil war, it's one of if not the best setting for strategy because there were so many interesting battles.

Civil war is a great setting for a thread where everybody attacks everybody.

Yes, but very few of the innovations actually made it to the battlefield during the war. They only became more numerous after the war. The biggest impact of technology was the rifled barrel used by the Union forces en mass. The Confederates were using Enfield smooth bore muskets that lacked the accurate range in comparison to the Springfield Rifle used by the Union.

And if one is aiming to add flavour and variety into a war game you go peruse contemporary niche arms to add to your game in the same way modern FPS' always include modern weaponry that never caught on outside of special forces like the FN F2000 and P90.

Would love to get this game but I can't justify getting something that isn't on par with M&B Napoleonic Wars with worse melee combat. The N&S mod for M&B was a lot of fun despite the annoying bleed mechanic.

And how deep strategy we are talking about in this title?
