The second new title screen. This is in addition to an optional tome menu consisting of a book on a wooden table.

This is actually my favorite of all time, I really like it.

Please Cleve, never remove this title screen. If anything, try to get this animated just like Parsifarka said. When new player get to the turtle they will instantly remember the title screen and that will make that scene way more memorable.

This last artwork captures all Grimoire is about.
Yes, Grimoire is about rideable giant turtles!

After V2 is released on Steam I will contact GOG.

Intend for release on GOG and physical materials to ship in last quarter of 2018.

I know you've been talking about a lot of different kinds of games as a new project - but how about a Grimoire 2? Reuses the engine and assets, add some more depth to the rpg systems and mechanics, maybe add some extra factional gimmicks, shoot for a mere 100 hours of gameplay, rake in the cash without treating all the work you've done as sunk costs.

I doubt anyone who bought Grimoire and enjoyed it wouldn't jump at the chance to buy Grimoire 2. I surely would. Hell, if you sell it for $60 for three or four months so us older fuckers with good taste can help make this more profitable I would be on board. Then lower the price and sell it to the monkey peons like you are doing with V2.

Its win-win-win. Also, have you looked into selling it on tablets/phones and on hand-helds? Almost all the blobbers of the last couple decade have come out of Japan for handhelds. The Switch is getting at least one other real rpg so that may be a good thing to look into. But I'd task that out to someone else so you can focus on Grimoire 2.

Cleveland Mark Blakemore have you contacted the Guinness Book of Records to make it official that Grimoire™ is in fact the game that has been in development the longest time in the history of video games before official release? I think you should try to make it official, since many other games try to make claims of similar nature. I think you have enough evidence to make it obvious that you started development of Grimoire approximately 20 years before the official release.

According to Guinness website, currently this title is held by Duke Nukem Forever, which was in development for 14 years and 4 months. I don't think the fact that you were not actively developing the title the whole time should matter, since Duke Nukem's original developer went bankrupt and the game was finalized by another company, so the game couldn't have been in active development the whole time.

Alternatively, you could just go for the title of the longest development period for a CRPG. They have different categories for this stuff. I'm sure they would approve your application.

That last title screen is amazing. Could only be topped by a physical manual in Dominions Size

Yeah, just checked the Pirate Bay...still only seeding the Original Release.

Yeah...not even the pirates care, Cleveland "Soyboy Mark" Blakemore ...How does that make you feel?

That's probably because everyone with good enough taste to want to play this gem wants to support it with cash - people on this very site have stated they are waiting for the price reduction coming with V2 before buying. So even the people who didn't think it was worth the initial price tag still believe it is better to wait for a sale than pirate the game. Or are patiently waiting for the easy to install and low risk pirate version that the gog release will enable.

Grimoire isn't exactly a mass market product. same reason you barely find any active torrents for illwinter games.

Of course I think V2 should be even more expensive than the original release. Discounting games are depreciating prices over time is way too sensible sapient. Grimoire should get more expensive with time, like the fine wine it is :obviously:

Yeah, really niche titles like this one don't really get pirated that much. Everyone who wants a game like this knows that they should PROBABLY fund it if they want more like it. Not saying it won't show up on torrent sites, duh of course it will, that's not the point.

Is V2 going to be the final "gameplay" version of the game? Or are you going to continue to add other gameplay elements such as quests, items, maps, npcs, etc. in the late future?

I'm not going to say never - but with V2, the loose ends of the game at some points will be closed and you will discover the things I cut out to make the launch - the Rhattu Casino and several new dungeons with unusual features. Working on these now. Since this version will have the full integration of the inventory workshop with the classes and crafting skills, it will be pretty feature complete.

So are we getting Grimoire 2 or the Lovecraft RPG next? Can't wait for 2033!

Also a Rhattu Casino Dungeon?!

Here is a list of the new regions that will be incorporated into V2.

Tattletale Circus !
Ratfink Hideaway !
Tomb of Doom !
Theosophy Lodge !
Farulosonoth Fissure !
Titan Mines !
Titan Underground Lake !
Mount Periwinkle !
Periwinkle Village !
Mass Gainers Spa !
Cataclysm !

I have a save right before the ending. I'll load this up and check out the new content at some point. Cataclysm sounds like it could be appropriate for a high level, overpowered party.

I imagibe mass gainers spa looks like that dungeon from persona 4 with the gay macho party member
The awesome thing about Mass Gainers Spa is that while there I won't be anywhere near the dungeon from Persona 4 with the gay macho party member.
