Depends if you like horror movies that are not meant to be taken seriously. I personally think that Demon Knight is a fun movie so yeah in my opinion you should try watching it again.

Yeah, they weren't grimdark enough. The second half of the movie (after Kainan tells his story of doing Exterminatus on the Moorwen homeworld) was better than the first.

Let's expand the definition to 'overlooked', or 'worth a torrent', or just 'shitty but not THAT shitty'.

Yeah, I guess it wasn't vomit-inducingly bad, but it was kind of just Banal Shit Boring.

Hearts and Armour is a movie I loved as a kid and after many years I finally found it watched it again. I expected to be disappointed as I was with many other films I enjoyed many years ago but I was pleasantly surprised, I expected crap and found a masterpiece.

I cant recall last time I laughed so much as when I saw this movie, its the ultimate "so bad its good film". From the gratuitous nudity, head decapitations, silly costumes, over the top acting and extreme cheesiness this movie just keeps giving huge amounts of fun.

Now im gonna go and watch Hawk the Slayer.

    that's ong bak II
I prefered the first ong bak. Story is similar nonsense though, but action is kinda... more raw.

    Totally.

    "I come in peace."
    "You go in pieces, asshole!"

French translation was pretty good too.

    "Je suis venu en paix."
"Et tu vas nous la foutre, la paix."

IIRC the stripper chick in this movie is in Point Break as well and beats up Keanu Reeves naked.

I watched that on Russian-dubbed VHS, and the Russian version of that line was:

    "I come in peace"
"And with peace you shall leave"

It's not that I hate Patrick Swayze... alright, I do ("Ghost" and "Dirty dancing" damaged too many women's brains back then), but there's not that much action in "Roadhouse". It's one of those movies where you think you gonna get raped bad and you just get a bitch slap. Like "Alexander".

I've always been a big fan of Collateral. I'm not sure that it's underrated per se -- it was generally well received and did well at the box office -- but it should still go on the list. Definitely, Michael Mann's best movie since Heat.

Not to be confused with late-career-Arnold snorefest, Collateral Damage.

    Collateral Damage wasn't that bad.

Now, The Sixth Day... the only redeeming part of it was the fact that it was rated PG-13 and yet there was a scene where a naked chick was walking behind a shelf of bottles, and during one frame, you could see her boob in its entirety.

My opinion is the exact opposite. Sixth Day is an underrated sci-fi tale, a kind of poor man's Minority Report. I loved the Michael Drucker villain character and all the shit he got into. He was such a sleaze, yet also a visionary.
And he looked like Bob Saget. :incline:

Collateral Damage, on the other hand, looked like it was trying to be some kind of edutainment documentary film about Latin American narco-terrorists. WHO GIVES A FUCK?!

I think you should re-watch Sixth Day again. The part where he sees a copy of himself in the house is the apex of the movie, at which point it could still be a good movie. Right after that point, it becomes a dreadful slog through mediocrity.

I'm not saying the movie was good. I'm saying it was not horrible and had interesting moments. Arnold's character was uninteresting and the action was so lame that the film barely qualifies as an action movie, but the plot had some interesting twists. Like I said, a poor man's Minority Report. (Minority Report itself was overrated, btw)

While we're on the topic of Michael Mann, his film remake of Miami Vice definitely qualifies as underrated. It's not a great movie by any stretch, but it definitely has its redeeming features, specifically some stunning cinematography, great music, and one of cinema's better shootouts.

edit: Just watched the end sequence again (my favorite part). The principle weakness of the movie is that the whole second act revolves around a romance between Colin Farrell and Gong Li, yet for almost the entire time they're on screen together they have neither chemistry or passion. That changes in the end sequence, when they have to say goodbye for good -- for once you feel what the film is asking you to feel: genuine loss. Couple the compelling performances with excellent music and superb shot composition, and you have one of my favorite action movie endings, even if much of the rest of the movie leaves a lot to be desired.
