I think it's more about the fact that AoD has been around for a long time - over a decade. Hard to keep the hype up for that long. Underrail on the other hand has seen relatively rapid progress.

No matter how you look at it, Age of Decadence and Underrail will be the two best RPGs in a long time. It's a little sad how someone who likes one would waste effort antagonizing the other, but I can imagine that's exactly what the codex will do for years after their release: fight over which is better, fruitlessly comparing apples and oranges.
