Last year many people from Komorin left to settle in a new village which they named Brumhill. I told them it was too close to a glacier - but they did not listen. I've received no news from them for a long time. I need someone to go there and ascertain that all is well.
hero.jpg
Alright. I can do this.
quest.jpg
Thank you. Snow orcs live on that glacier and those beasts are horrible - they eat human flesh. I fear for the villagers.
hero.jpg
Why did they leave Komorin?
quest.jpg
Since the dwarves closed the border, life has become difficult - no more caravans, no more easy money... yet we still have to pay the same taxes. The King's Law states that new villages on the borders of the kingdom shall pay no taxes for 5 years. This was the main reason they founded Brumhill.

Enjoy your tax free snow orcs, then.

It's time to get overpowered

hero.jpg
I've got it here.
friend.jpg
Well done. But I don't know how long I can remain here...
hero.jpg
What happened?
friend.jpg
The society is upset that I gave you a stone. They don't like strangers in their teleport network. They've forbidden me from creating any new teleport stones for you.
hero.jpg
I understand.
friend.jpg
However, we have an agreement which was made before the Society made its ruling on me - so I will create one... no... TWO last stones for you.
hero.jpg
I thank thee indeed... but you will surely be reprimanded because of this?
friend.jpg
Keeping my word of honor is more important to me than any rulings from the old mages... I also sense that much lies before you...
hero.jpg
Yes. I must find my sister.
friend.jpg
Yes. I understand your sister is important to you. But your future actions could be vital for our world. I cannot tell you more at this time, you should leave...
hero.jpg
Farewell.

All this vague bullshit of future actions. Yeah we know what's gonna happen, we're going to unwittingly hand over a doomsday device to the kidnappers and we'll clean the mess ourselves. Now let's move on to our adventure.

The ranch's marksman was no ordinary man. He's a trainer.

Unfortunately gold is tight, and I don't see any reason to take up the lesson on those skills at 100 gp ea.

Nay. 'Tis but vinegar you smell... your nose deceives you.
hero.jpg
Hold - 'tis not my intention to tell the guards - but I would like to know where you get it...
quest.jpg
SHHHHH! I make my own and even sell to those I trust... can I trust you?
hero.jpg
You sell real spirits? Not just wine or ale?
quest.jpg
SHHHHHH! Aye! But I have a problem - I sent a shipment to Tharbakin some time ago - and it never reaches its destination - and now I heard there's a bandit on the road...
hero.jpg
Have you no more?
quest.jpg
I will make some - but I am more worried about the road to Tharbakin. If it is unsafe, my trade will die...
hero.jpg
Say no more.
quest.jpg
That bandit stopped my courier at the edge of the forest outside Covengor. Mayhap a good place to start eh?
hero.jpg
Do not fret, I will find him.
quest.jpg
I have hired a confident man... splendid!

man.jpg
Hmm. You look like one of his men. Ebrat Skelden hired a group some time ago - strong, they say, but for me a waste of time and money. We must deal with our problems ourselves.
hero.jpg
And you are?
man.jpg
I serve the House of Skelden. The strongest and proudest of all the noble houses of Cathalon. We rule in Thalmont.
hero.jpg
Why are you here in this place then?
man.jpg
Hunting... one of the woodcutters was a Karga leader - but he was warned and fled before we arrived. The rebels know all of our moves before we even move - they are as the wind...
hero.jpg
Who is this leader you seek?
man.jpg
Conn Krannach, from the Clan Karga. One of the villagers from Covengor told us his whereabouts for 20 gold pieces.
hero.jpg
I was told that the rebels have many loyal men in the villages.
man.jpg
Peasants have no backbone - rebels when they have to pay taxes, but you can always buy them for gold.
hero.jpg
'Twould seem that not every villager can be bought - or Karga would have been in your hands already.
man.jpg
Aye, true. And that snake will be more cautious now...the only chance we have to catch him is to play his game better than he...
hero.jpg
You need someone the rebels would not suspect...
man.jpg
Aye. You. Mayhap? 'Tis dangerous but well paid. Interested?
hero.jpg
I will take the mission.
man.jpg
Tis good. The rebels are scum! But Conn Krannach is different... do not take him lightly! If you find him. You know what to do. We will hear of him no more...
hero.jpg
What can you tell me about Clan Karga?
man.jpg
Thieves, scum and rebels. They dare to attack us, The Skeldens - humble servants of the King who brought civilization and peace to this lawless land. Clan Karga once ruled Thalmont, before the King proclaimed it ours. Now they call themselves the protectors of common folk - Hah!
hero.jpg
I bid you farewell then...

We've no clue where Clan Karga might be. So we'll leave that quest alone for a while.

This time he wants FIVE taints. And the spell he gave us is Poison dart - not a good spell at all. Since poison damage takes a LONG time to pass.

Hopefully we can find a way to improve our faction relations so he'll let us into the compound.

You do not hail from hereabouts - you seem more the travelling type.
hero.jpg
Sharp eyes indeed!
guard.jpg
Are you headed for Covengor by any chance? I mean, I would make it worth your while.
hero.jpg
I may be...
guard.jpg
Let me explain... I am the Quartermaster of the city guard and a certain shipment from Covengor is late - I need someone to go there and collect the shipment - and I cannot spare any of my men... can you help me, perchance?

That evasive manner of speech. It's too obvious. He's the guy who ordered the moonshine.

hero.jpg
It's your lucky day, friend - I happen to have some alcohol with me.
guard.jpg
Ahh, at last! Fortune has smiled on a poor soldier! I will buy all you have and no questions asked.

It was a good trade. The moonshine was simply useless otherwise.

hero.jpg
I did not hear you...?
white.jpg
I said that someone may use your anger against you. Beware of false friends.

Wow. Another cryptic clue. I wonder who he's talking about.

hero.jpg
Who are you? Are you one of my LP readers?
white.jpg
We watch you... and very closely too. One day we will come for you.

:| A Codexer on my doorstep. That's my worst nightmare.

hero.jpg
Methinks you have a touch of sunstroke, old man. Come, drink some water and lie down.

white.jpg
You are not yet ready.

Show me your wherewithal!

hero.jpg
I'm not sure... I expected something more... striking, in a way...
doorman.jpg
Oh, we are a humble guild, most of our members do not like to show off... 'Tis too much of a risk nowadays. Is splendor a matter of some import to you?
hero.jpg
It shows me that you have the wherewithal to pay me for my services.

Dat English.

doorman.jpg
So you seek employment? You can ask Ion Furvo. He should be in his office.
hero.jpg
Farewell.
doorman.jpg
Farewell, I shall see you again, mayhap.

hero.jpg
Nay, not as far as I know...
oldman.jpg
Oh, I apologize. I am so worried about my son...
hero.jpg
You look poorly, good man... tell me something of this.
oldman.jpg
It's my son, Myron. He is a mining craftsman - House Skelden employs him to find new mines in the east. I have heard nothing from him for the last three weeks.
hero.jpg
Mayhap he is occupied with his work...
oldman.jpg
He would've told me if that was the case - besides, he always lets me know where he is.
hero.jpg
You think that he may be in trouble?
oldman.jpg
Ye Gods, I hope not... but Myron turned... strange of late. He always liked to speak of his work, but suddenly spoke no more of it. Mayhap because of what happened to Stan and Corrin. Poor lads. Myron had two good companions. He always said that in his job trustworthy friends are the best insurance a man can have... They both disappeared more than a month ago.
hero.jpg
What does Hagrast have to do with all this?
oldman.jpg
He's in charge of mine protection. Before he departed, Myron told me he must speak with Hagrast to settle a few things. After Stan and Corrin vanished, I saw my son with strangers - they were neither from the House of Skelden, nor from Thalmont. If only I knew how to find Hagrast...
hero.jpg
If I see Hagrast, I will ask him about your son.
oldman.jpg
You will? My gratitude will know no bounds!
hero.jpg
Time enough for that later...
oldman.jpg
You have given my old heart hope. Please return with glad tidings...
hero.jpg
What can you tell me about Hagrast?
oldman.jpg
Myron said he is in charge of protection for the House of Skelden mines in the east. He leads a group of southern mercenaries - they are tough.
hero.jpg
Tough, you say?
oldman.jpg
They say that even the rebels respect and avoid any confrontation with them.
hero.jpg
You said that your son met some strange people. Pray tell me of them...
oldman.jpg
I believe they tried to look like villagers, but there was something not quite right about them...
hero.jpg
Not one of them was familiar to you?
oldman.jpg
I told you. All I know is that Myron called one of them Noals.
hero.jpg
That is a Highland name.
oldman.jpg
Or Karga - what has my son got mixed up in... ye gods!
hero.jpg
I'll try my best to find him. Fare well.

There's no doubt about it. The poor man's son has gotten involved with the Karga rebels. Probably related to his two missing friends. Things within the walls of Thardakin may seem fine, but outside - a civil war is brewing.

The Society needs you!
01.jpg

02.jpg

hero.jpg
Eh, what is opportune, pray?
mage.jpg
Why, that you have come here... I can see you travel much... or am I wrong?
hero.jpg
Nay, you are not wrong.
mage.jpg
Ah, that look, that gait, there is no mistaking it... and I need one such as you!
hero.jpg
Why?
mage.jpg
Ah yes, a direct young man, good, good! I am an old mage... too old to deal with such affairs, I fear...
hero.jpg
What affairs, pray?
mage.jpg
Oh, dangerous affairs, you may be sure. While walking down from Gorelin, I was attacked by some Groms. I was lucky to escape with my life. However, the fiends got my staff - and I need that staff...
hero.jpg
Aye, that is a problem.
mage.jpg
Indeed. If I were younger, how those Groms would suffer... but, alas, I am old and weak...
hero.jpg
I see... and I should retrieve the staff for you?
mage.jpg
Yes, indeed! And since I do not expect you to do this just to help an old, ailing man, I am prepared to pay you handsomely for your help.

Was that sarcasm?

hero.jpg
Very well. I shall help you.
mage.jpg
Ahh, that is ... that is wonderful! I shall be in your debt forever!
hero.jpg
Can you tell me more about the staff?
mage.jpg
Oh. 'Tis as old and weak as its owner... worthless, really... the Groms would use it as a club, the fiends...
hero.jpg
Aye... so where do you think I can find these Groms?
mage.jpg
I am sure they came from a camp to the northwest of Tharbakin.
hero.jpg
I shall look for them there.
mage.jpg
Please make haste, young man! My poor staff, mayhap clubbing travellers...
03.jpg

04.jpg

I'm afraid I don't remember him at all.

hero.jpg
Greetings. Have you heard of my work for other mages?
mage2.jpg
Indeed - and I have something you can do for me - I need a dragon scale. I know they are hard to acquire, but with your skills...

Wow...okay. I'll kill it.

hero.jpg
Why do you need a dragon scale?
mage2.jpg
A curious mind is a healthy mind, we say! My apprentice left - and I cannot get ingredients myself - if you do this, I will reward you well, young man...

Apprentice left...to another world. After dying trying to get one. Mayhap.

hero.jpg
I see... Well, I have heard they are hard to find and even harder to obtain...
mage2.jpg
Well, it is rumored that the Brotherhood's outpost far to the northeast of Tharbakin is a secret place full of captive dragons.

:hmmm:

mage2.jpg
Mayhap only rumors - but the many guards and that familiar roaring does spell out dragons to me... These rumors may be false - but I have no further knowledge of where you can find a dragon...
hero.jpg
Tell me of this wondrous experiment for which you need a dragon scale.
mage2.jpg
You would not understand - it is extremely complex.
hero.jpg
I like complex experiments.

 (Speech)

mage2.jpg
Nay, you might pass it on to ehhh... undesirables... many would love to have the knowledge for which you ask...
hero.jpg
As you wish.
