The storyfag in me hopes this game will be able to deliver what none of the other kickstarters have been able to
Zeits/saunders involvement gives me higher hopes for this than for PoE

This guy in the gas mask is a spoiler for the next RPG: Fantasy Vikings against WW1. Most of the game will be about digging tunnels.

George and Colin both have been writing a ton, I'm really enjoying their characters in the Bloom, they're that Numenera and Torment combination of deep dialog, thoughtful themes, mystery and horror. It's really, really good, high quality prose.

"We’re not making the game bigger at this point and new funds serve primarily to increase the level of polish we’ll be able to achieve."

Not really very sure what to think of a comment like this. To me polish is making sure of bugquashing and stability so it doesn't crap all over you.

Does this mean that they would even consider the possibility of leaving it halfarsed just because 'you didn't give us enough money'? Polish is part of the whole, not a separate thing dependant on 'stuff' Varying degrees of polish would certainly point to varying degrees of 'giving a shit'.

At some point they will have to stop adding new content no matter how much money they get.

You might want to learn the basics of how games are made before posting...

I'd have though a statement equal to 'give us enough and we'll polish it properly' was pretty self explanatory.

However at least I set borders on my statement by saying what I 'thought' it was.

Given the history of KS projects biting off more than they can chew and endebting themselves through reach goals for up front cash, this announcement is most welcome. Establishing content completion goals is important to ensure a proper level of quality.

I actually suggested that they make 'polish only' donation tiers for those people who want to see their contributions go to the quality of the base product rather than the never-ending list of stretch goals that undermine core quality in most cases. Probably not something anyone wants to have to police but you get the idea.

So it really has come to the point that polish is a separate matter and should have a separate budget.

If anyone EVER calls my posts retarded I'm pointing at these last few posts, yeah let's give them a separate KS just so the game doesn't look and play like amateur hour at the lego factory.

Polish used to be expected in a game. Talk about low expectations.

In this case, more polish simply means a longer post-production, which is good. Every major KS that has had an extended post-production has been the better for it.

In all fairness post-production sounds a hell of a lot better than polish and wouldn't seem so concerning, so I'm sure if they meant post-production they'd have said that instead of 'polish'.. but if they did mean post-production instead.. well, a comment about their ability to get their point across succinctly and accurately in writing raises red flags with me.
