Prosper's face thing is probably the best way to go. After the troll, it is the next most well known representation of the Codex. Although I don't actually understand what it means (like a lot of Prosper stuff).

The conversation would be about the face that couldn't remember or whatever the fuck it is, and the last line of dialogue is "hopw roewur ne"

A suggestion for the text:
"A whisper is heard in the wind "hopw roewur ne", looking around the player determines that originates from a nearby mound.As the player approaches it realizes that the features of what resembles a human yet alien face are ever shifting.In its presence the player feels like something important was forgotten, the sensation leaves the player confused for few seconds, rapidly disappering."

Take Renegen’s concept of a towering stack of talking heads, skulls, and Prosper’s Mask, it will be stout as a monolithic totem.

The innumerable orifices tuned to change in ghostly pitch and wail as gusts rise and fall.

Barometric variables hearten or weaken the tune.

Nesting birds add a random change as holes fill or sing free.

The song twisting as the seasons change, as does the source of on rushing, clashing air masses.

Black, white and rainbow aura occasionally accent the harmonics, the earth is a static battery, thus a flash of lightning may set the mood and a promise of story.

Or darken the day of the unwary.

The tale’s mood, affirmative, negative, or good for what it is depending on the compass origins of prevailing winds.

Because we raised money for Torment, one of the rewards we're due is the "Obelisk from a Lost Empire", where we work with Obsidian to "determine the characteristics, design and tides of a monument of our choosing. The Obelisk can be a statue, a pillar, a pyramid or something else that will be placed somewhere in the game. The player will be able to interact with it and thus learn more of the story we wish to tell."

Obsidian now want to know the following from us:

- The shape, size and look of your Obelisk 20 sided die
- A description of what you'd like to have happen when the player interacts with it. 1-5 = death or something else like a temporary debuff 6-10 = you get attacked 11-15 you gain some experience 16-20 you get a really good item

We will take your outline to our design and art team, and then contact you again once we have a concept and design outline for you to approve.

Guidance:
- When designing the Obelisk, please keep in mind this is a top-down game and a lot of things are not conveyed on the model. Focus on the descriptive text for details.
- While the Obelisk can take any shape, it should not be larger than XXX and can not have any moving parts on the model itself – though it can be described as moving in the text.
- The interaction with the Obelisk can be either a short text or a brief conversation, please define and outline how you’d like to see this interaction work.
- The interaction with the Obelisk should be self-contained, so it can’t be tied to a bigger quest or pose a great danger to the player.
- The Obelisk should not require a specific context or biome, so that we can place them in any of our areas.
- The Obelisk design should fit in the Ninth World setting. If the design or look of it does not fit we may need to adjust it until it does.​

Oh and also:

You filled in "A troll. Like the one we sent Brian Fargo in the mail!" While funny, obviously exactly reproducing the Codex troll would not fit the setting or tone of the game. "Devil"-like figures like the troll in general wouldn't fit. Perhaps you guys can put your heads together and come up with some alternatives? We would love to hear back this week.​

We are now taking suggestions for troll-like things that fit the theme, or other ideas.

Surely it should prove easy to have something Codexian fit the lore of a setting where the overarching narrative is that history is just a series of inevitable declines.

This ancient stone obelisk is decorated with an exceptionally well-preserved coloured ceramic figure. It appears to represent a humanoid male (or hermaphrodite with male features) whose clothing includes an image of a very young girl - possibly a religious figure or symbolic reference to lost youth.

Debate has raged about the device in 'his' right hand. Early theories focused on possible weapons and combat applications. But it is now generally accepted that this is an example of the now-extinct sub-species known as "beta males", who were unlikely to carry weapons or exhibit aggression in any form. Due to their inability to attract a mate and reproduce naturally, it has been suggested that this device controlled various implants and provided artificial sexual stimulation as a substitute for a willing female.

A faded inscription in archaic text reads "Here lies the last of the computer repairmen. We will never see his like again."

You approach the strange face, beckoned in by its haunted eyes. Before you know it have turned your back upon the obelisk and are walking away, confused and with an unshakeable sense of déjà vu.


If the PC tries to interact with it a second time:

No matter how many times you approach the monstrous face you can never quite seem to remember why you keep returning to it or what bizarre significance it has to some primordial section of your psyche.

(less sure about this one) if the PC has a high Intellect:

A strange monotone reverberates across your skull. While you are on the verge of forgetting these words by a superhuman force of willpower you somehow remember a few of them as you shakily retreat from the strangely sculpted face. Your mind is filled with esoteric poetry, incredible technological workings, universal metaphysics and most bizarrely a sense of unrequited affection. [receive buff to intellect, tides, however the system works I dunno]
