Well, that paragraph is a bit ambiguous as to the role of the backers in influencing that decision. I hope there won't be any Uservoice voting.

I don't get why voting on a combat system sticks in your craw so much.

I wouldn't like such a relatively big decision (yes, even for a Torment game) put to a popularity contest.

And here's Torment's 26 page vision document

DAMN !

We already knew a lot of what's been told in the document, but reading it all at once just gave me a RAGING BONER --and-- made me shed a manly tear.

How can this be ? - It's Numenera, everything's possible !

:brodex:

Those fuckers better deliver at least half of what they're promising.

More ineptitude from inEPTile's artists. "You can't judge it cause it's too weird" was just hogwash.

I can't think of anything SoZ did right aside from the party conversation system.

Damnit, fuckers made me update my pledge for the comics. I didn't want to contribute to the surge.

.

Eh?

This game was the closest thing to Darklands Skill system with overlands map usage.

What is wrog with "so called dungeon crawls"?
When the core is about running around talking to people, extended sections where you just kill things are an inappropriate and unwanted speed bump.

Eh?

This game was the closest thing to Darklands Skill system with overlands map usage.
Didn't make for an interesting game.

If SoZ had a better engine and Torment's stable of writers it would have been one of the best ever.

Darklands is a boring grind, yes. It does have a lot of interesting ideas. Unlike SoZ.

Hmm.

Tell me what those ideas are OTHER than the skill usage ( and probably open world, although it was hardly WELL DONE).

That screenshot makes me REALLY want to look in all those barrels and crates. There could be a minor healing potion, some copper, who knows???!!

I am seriously hoping that they are either empty or full of trash.

Hate to nitpick ANOTHER screenshot especially since this one looks much better and more interesting. What is up with the perspective though? It's messing with my brain or I'm just looking at it wrong.

I can't wait for all the backers to vote for a RTwP system. It'll be like this, but vidya games:
