No, it just wouldn't be the same to do a shitty let's play of a twenty year old JRPG now that Mister True Detective Phantasy Star Waifu has spoiled the final boss.
HERE'S MY MEMORY OF THE FINAL FANTASY EIGHT ENDING
They go to Ultimecia's spooky castle and beat her up and also they beat up Squall's medallion, the implication being that there's a connection between Rinoa and Ultimecia since Rinoa is the only character that ever showed an interest in it, ever. Are they the same person? Is the whole evil sorceress shit destined to go on or did they end this shit by killing Evil Grown-Up Rinoa in the future? Who knows? But more importantly, who cares?
Then Squall wakes up in a desert and walks 500 miles and 500 miles more to be the man who walked 1000 miles to be with Rinoa. This is where their promise comes into play. In the script writing business we call that planting a seed for a big payoff! Clearly the person who wrote Final Fantasy VIII is a smart guy like that. (Search for FF8 INTRO MOVIE to find out more about this, then compare to the FF8 ENDING MOVIE!)
Then Irvine, I think, films a movie where Zell chokes on a bunch of hot dogs in front of his girlfriend (!) the Librarian Girl with a pigtail (ACTUALLY A GREAT SIDEQUEST THAT YOU WILL NEVER SEE NOW THANKS ABNAXUS!), Headmaster Cid and Edea apparently get together, Quistis and Selphie also do something, and Squall and Rinoa smiles like retards at each other on a balcony or something.
Also Seifer and his friends gives up on the whole 'serving an evil sorceress that wants to destroy the world or whatever' thing and become fishermen. Water under the bridge, or rather IN THE OCEAN!!!
