It is pretty strange that the guy has to work on this mod privately, when the changes seem very important to the combat. They should add this as a patch or in an Enhanced Enchaned Edition.

Would gamepad or keyboard and mouse be recommended?

Don't touch this game with a gamepad, controls and camera are fucking disaster. Not like it's much better with mouse and keyboard, but still

One of the most prominent modders of the first Witcher, Andrzej Kwiatkowski (modding scene nickname – Flash), who’s currently working with us as a Gameplay Designer, is finishing his own mod that tweaks the combat and alters some parts of gameplay of The Witcher 2.

This Flash guy is responsible for a broken combat skills in TW2. Also, he was the only modder on Witcher 1 scene, so it's not damn hard to be prominent in that circumstances. I doubt he could fix a flush in a craphouse, not to mention TW2 combat

I liked the witcher 1 after getting the FCR mod, never managed to finish witcher 2, the final chapter just bored me. Hard to put a finger on what it was exactly... honestly... this will probably sound strange. I never felt like geralt accomplished anything in the witcher 2 he just gets pushed around by factions and people he doesn't seem to care about, that's probably just the voice acting though right? I think the witcher games would have actually been a lot better if they left the politics alone and just had geralt do his job.
Bah I know it's a fine and playable game, just doesn't interest me, would rather replay the witcher 1.

Update on mod status.
All the features for the mod are finished. I can release source code and assets but moving the mod from editor to the game requires time consuming trial and error cooking process. I need to optimize installation size, now it weighs 8GB :(

8 GB for a mod that changes combat and adds some animations? The fuck.

I hope he optimizes the hell out of it.

Still don't get the hate for TW2 soundtrack.

A Nearly Peaceful Place, Dwarven Stone Upon Dwarven Stone, Into The Fields, Blue Mountains and A Quiet Corner are as good as anything from TW1 soundtrack.

Witcher 2 soundtrack isn't bad when campared to the other AAA crpgs OST. The think is it hasn't orginal TW celtic vibe. Also, no fucking drums - autofail.

Interesting. My favourite tracks from TW1 were River of Life, The Dike and Peaceful Moments.

Yeah, Diablo 2 isn't what you're looking for, if what you're looking for is anything like a good crpg. If you're really interrested I would suggest watching the cutscenes on youtube.

I don't classify Diablo 2 as a CRPG. If Diablo 2 is a CRPG then so is Titan Quest. Simple quests and a few skills does not an RPG make. I just thought I'd play it because I'm a lorefag when it comes to Blizzard.

I wouldn't exactly say that lore is the strong point of the Diablo series. :P It's definitely worth playing, though, if you like action RPGs - if only because all the others (Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile, Torchlight, etc) are so heavily influenced by it (hence the term 'Diablo clone').

Well, Diablo actually had pretty unique Gothic lore, which was undermined in D2 and completely demolished in D3. Now it's just a generic popamole.

This, Diablo lore wasn't particularly complex and rarely more than just outlined and hinted at, but it worked well establishing the setting and atmosphere.
And for this very reason, if you're a lorefag then you really don't want to play D2. Watch the vids on YT, they are the only part of D2 that is good in this regard - misleadingly so.
The rest is generaic fantasy hepraderp with MMO-lite gameplay.

You could play it because of builds, or because you are addicted to virtual item slot machines, or because of coop, but if it's lore and atmosphere you crave fore, this would only bring you tears of rage.

Cheers DraQ, I appreciate your taste in games so I'll take your advice to heart. I have a long list of games to play as it is.

Really? I thought Diablo 2 was best, lore wise. Isn't that the one where they actually introduced all the major concepts? I thought that before 2, the prime evils and all that jazz was just flavor text in a manual.

All the people who made Diablo 3 can go die in a fire though.

I never did understand the appeal in farming virtual real estate, probably why I never got into diablo/clones. Would rather play/collect a card game.
