It is an adventure game. Ok, the puzzles aren't as challenging as, say, Monkey Island, but that doesn't make it an interactive movie.

interactive movies are a sub-genre of adventures, so the border is pretty fluid. just asking 'cos whatever i saw of the game looked very much like an evolution of the dragon's lair/space ace gameplay.

I don't know because I haven't played those, but if The Walking Dead is an interactive movie, then the interactivity is high. Choices are supposed to have consequences, so far it basically just changes the way characters react to you and who survives at the end of each chapter. But the game remembers a lot of the things you do, especially how you talk to Clementine, the sweet little girl who basically becomes your ward. She remembers things you say to her. It'll be interesting to see what kind of character she becomes by the last episode depending on the things you do - episode 2 is set a few months after episode 1, it would be great if episode 6 is set about 15 years in the future when she's grown up. Also, they've said they'll make another series after this.

Finally played through episode 2. Enjoyed it again, though some niggles and irritation were had. Mostly at the game turning choppy during the last few scenes. Fuck that. What pissed me off content wise was bandits apparantly wearing balaclavas 24/7 and also when amongst themselves. Dude. Also at multiple people getting shot without that seemingly having any real effect. You got shot in the gut and your reaction is that your fine, just not as young as you used to be? WTF?

Otherwise another fine excursion into hell with mankind being the real monsters and the zombies just being there as a deux ex machina. Though they really took a backseat in this one. Felt the story was worse compared to the very good episode 1 but the way the big ending was set up was neat enough for me. Glad to see they kept that great thing between your character and the child going.

Am hopeful for episode 3. Comic went to shit because it made things bigger and worse and more convulted all the time. Episode 3 seems like it's going to be focused on something condensed enough to work. Scoping out a town, fighting of bandits and getting the fuck out. Looking forward to it.

Episode 2 is pretty good but some inconsitencies , i dont see how they can power an electric fence and supply generators like this 24/24 with only a few gallons of fuel, it also needs more than fuel to operate them and you need to mix a % of oil into it.

Episode 3 is out. Again, higher quality than the first episode.

Just finished episode 3. Fucking depressing. Great one to play through but I'm actually going to take a little break of all the bleakness. The whole Walking Dead thing is about letting worse and worse shit happen to the protagonists and this game ain't different.

Still, way better than episode two and almost on par with one. Still, I would like another part like the one in which you take over the motel.

I've been avoiding reviews and threads like these because of spoilers but I must say that I fully agree with the rps review.

    Still some wierd bugs btw.

So is each "Chapter" like the previous TT games, 3 to 4 hours long?

Yeah, I'd say that's about right.

What irks me a bit is how every character is constantly judging my black player character. Every little thing I do or say I keep hearing about but meanwhile we've got

That the game invokes these emotions with me however, neat. Refreshing even.

Kenny is actually the only one somewhat decent of the whole group.

Well episode 4 is out. And it is still awesome. Yes, I'm worried about lack of C&Cs other than characters bitch at you, but the story is still excellent compared to most other adventure games. I've been hooked and I've had to complete each episode in a single sitting.

Yeah - I've been enjoying this series as well. The story is pretty compelling. So far Episode 2 is my favourite although they've all been pretty good.

I used to think getting attached to any characters in George RR Martin's books was a bad idea but you can multiply that by a factor of three or so with regards to the supporting cast in this series!

Didn't like any of the characters except for Lee and Clementine. Everyone else is a mouth breathing retard / victim of horrible writing.

Even though I find the lack of promised C&C annoying, the Clementine/Lee duo is enough to keep me going.

As far as I've seen in playthrough videos (didn't actually play any ep) the main plot is pretty much set in stone. The choices made change minor things but nothing too dramatic, I think.

I actually enjoy watching playthroughs when a new episode comes out.

They had believable characters until the 'badass' parkour martial artist ninja girl was introduced in Episode 4 who almost threw me out of the story completely; good ending however.
