Seems like the guy decided to self-eject as well: http://codeavarice.com/post/100592709238/mike-is-leaving-code-avarice

Probably the best he can do at this point, having the best interest of the company in mind. Credit to him that he made this decision instead of continuing to dig himself and his coworkers even deeper. Now his partner (and the new owner) needs to step away from Twitter and figure out the best way to salvage the situation. Last time I saw, he was also tweeting about evil monopolies and the unfairness of life.

Check out the comments:

I had the "pleasure" of being acquainted with Mike and Travis during a Groupees bundle we shared last year in May. They were harassing customers in chat and I stepped in to tell them to stop. After Mike and Travis retargeted their harassment at me, Mike and I proceeded to chat in private messages. I told him "you need to learn to act a bit more professional" after a short discussion about how he can't treat his customers that way. He said "You can't teach a lesson to God."

After a little bit of talk like this (I remained civil and he kept saying things like this. I have the entire transcript saved btw.), Mike proceeded to get his followers and famous YouTubers to go and attack our Desura page, putting in 1/10's for reviews over and over. He also got people to talk shit on Twitter about our game, despite them not playing it at all. It was petty and pointless and all because I defended customers he was harassing.

I've followed his progress closely and silently ever since then. I documented several of his outbursts and waited for him to implode. That day finally came.

Mike is not a good person. He got what he deserved and anyone feeling sorry for him really shouldn't. Maybe one day he'll become a halfway decent human being, but it won't be in the game industry. He's done here, as seen from this terrible apology. "Shitty corporations" really?! You haven't learned ANYTHING Mike.

:hero: (that's the developer of Guncraft btw)

To be fair, I received PA's steam keay from a humble bundle. But looking at some steam reviews, there are some people complaining about how the dev apparently didn't tried to fix/work on stuff for his game. The notch tweet is epic, though. Lazy retards gonna lazy retard, as always.

I thought that this will be short and sweet but it keeps on giving. What a dildo.

Minecraft did catch lightning in a bottle and not everyone is going to be a millionaire; however, his underlying point is right: you don't NEED Steam if you make a quality game and treat customers well. If you act like an arrogant prick and talk down to people... surprise... you're boned.

Ah thanks, I wondered who that was as I have the Groupees bundle in question. I guess you don't have many friends with such a pleasant personality. Going around and posting 1/10 reviews on a fellow developer's product everywhere just because he dared to ask you not to be rude to customers is certainly endearing.

Edit: I looked at those chat logs, and this case with the Guncraft guy seems to be not that clear-cut. They both did their part.

It's amazing to me that Raven Software, and Id were at one point just a bunch of young guys like this whackadoo was, yet as far as I can tell, there weren't any personal dramas going on back then.

lel. Read Masters of Derp.

I get that Id had a lot of internal shit to the point it basically killed the company, but it was normal business shit not "I'm gonna kill you, I quit, I'm a victim!".

There was no social media back then, it was a lot slower and more difficult for people to publicly humiliate themselves like this.

Today steam introduced Turkish Lira pricing (Praise Gaben!) with some unexpected currency rate, most of the games got their price lowered between %20-40 even unreleased AAA titles like CoD Advanced Warfare.
Everything was fun and games till I looked for Ubi games, which were really cheap 8 months ago in Turkey...

WTF Ubi?!?

Well, time to set sail for "The Bay".

Edit: Also I just bought Styx and Legend of Grimrock 2 previous weeks... Should have waited 2 more weeks.

There was still USENET and BBSs that served much the same purpose for the computer-literate people of the day. I think it's more due to the current indie wave inflating dev egos and putting them in the habit of posting before thinking.
