Doug is a funny guy. You should read the rest of his website.

(Too bad he became a furfag and has to inject lame furry allusions everywhere in his newer works.)

Thanks, I've been reading through his "Misbehaving" section. I also love that this site looks like the 90's all over again

Just got through the Arx Fatalis one. Lots of cool stuff I didn't know you could do.

The Deus Ex one is pretty good so far.

The newer walk-throughs are pretty :decline: though; maybe it's just because I read all the others already and it's getting tired. Classics are ace though: Ultimas, Thief, Deus Ex, System Shock, Arx Fatalis...

Yeah, the Elder Scrolls stuff is furry derp, and the DX:HR walkthrough is just whiney. The U5 Lazarus page was his last classic, undeclined walkthrough.

Ultima 8 is a interesting little game... it took the (sometimes large) dungeons of ultima 7 and turned it on the whole game almost.

I quite like the necropolis. If it had more to do...
It reminds me of stone soup, with the branches (but much smaller and easier).

The narrative is too linear (but not unbreakable, as http://it-he.org/ shows), not like U7 where you could follow abrahm and the other around or fuck off and do other things, leading all to the same place.

Once i got into it, loved the spell systems. Of the ones that need reagents, they're hard to find in the world IIRC. Too hard, like another symptom of the unfinished-ness.

Plot takes a dive into nonsensical once you find the sorcerors.

:greatjob: Looks like the Guardian represents the dark, Codexian side of Spoony's psyche.

Have to say, watching this has saved me from any slight feelings of finishing this game again for any continuity purposes should I do another complete Ultima runthrough. The last one was over 10 years ago, so my mind must have blanked out some of the horror of Ultima IX.

As for child killing, he could always just run away from them if he cared that much about it...

I feel like Spoony is slowly crawling out of the decline pit he was dragged into by his girlfriend and TGWTG crowd. I do hope he recovers from depression, though, since I liked his videos more when he was enjoying them too. Nowadays it all looks a bit forced. I also wish he did not include these audio-inserts like the "giant enemy crab" thing.
