I've been having great fun with this lately, it's not all that complex once you figure out the interface. I've been doing a first campaign with Britain. It's on Easy but I only found that out after I had started. Apparently I missed where to click to choose a difficulty setting, and I thought "easy" is a description of the campagin difficulty with this faction, a la Total War.

I'm flooding the world economy with cheap goods, developing my industries and massing armies around the border with France in North America. I'm ready to make landings in Montreal and Louisbourg within weeks of the war's start. It doesn't seem like the computer is building up forces in his colonies. Probably due to the difficulty.
