KOTOR stuff? Fair amount of it. Not talkin bout the tg stuff.

Do you have any good ones to suggest? I have the xbox version so I'm probably not the best one to ask for KOTOR.

Actually, forget I said anything. There are dozens, probably hundreds of Kotor mods. Some magnificent, some crap and everything in between. Restored content, fan bug fixes, full conversions, the whole shot. Entire sites are dedicated to them. Not really needed in this thread. I will say that I was able to get the PC version to look pretty much next-gen with several graphic improvement patches found out there, and lots of time spent with Rivatuner and similar tools. And I was proud of my shiny accomplishment.

could someone explain how NMA's POS download partner "atomic gamer" works? I click a mirror, I get a popup saying I have to wait. Eventually it says I can download the file. No link is provided anywhere that I can see. Am I just being retarded? I really hate these download queues. I'd be happy to buy a membershp, if there wasn't 47 different sites of this type, all whoring for registration for "immediate downloads". Each site I frequent seems to have chosen a different one of these whores.

any recommendations for any NWN module?

That's another topic to which numerous entire sites are dedicated, there being probably thousands of modules, and hundreds of them are worth playing if you like NWN. If you want epic scope and great writing, try the Aielund saga. Tortured Hearts gets a lot of props, but I find the English translation sucks.

I think the Co8 link description should be updated to reflect the Less-New-Content version.

Hey guys,

I found a mod for Arx Fatalis while cruising around the TTLG forums:

http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125765

It's called Arx Fatalis Enchantment and Item Balance Mod.

From the readme:

Arx Fatalis Enchantment and Item Balance Mod

Version 1.0

----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------

DISCLAIMER:

I am NOT responsible for any damage done to your computer, Arx Fatalis installation,
save games etc. This mod should be perfectly safe to use, but I'm just covering my
back just in case.

Changes in this Mod:

-A greater range of Enchantments, using new reagents.
-Most weapons, armor and shields may be enchanted.
-Items no longer need Object Knowledge to be identified.
-Enchanting power now based on Object Knowledge, since it is the "Crafting" skill.
-Heavy weapons and armor have massive Stealth and Casting penalties.
-Heavy armor needs a minimum Defense skill to use.
-Two-Handed weapons no longer give Armor Class, but are somewhat faster.
-There are no more cursed items, they now give bonuses instead.

Things I CANNOT change:

(So don't ask me to change them!)

-Spells
-Skills
-Quests

Note, that I might get round to balancing NPC stats, like Life and Armor Class.

Introduction:

Enchanting in Arx Fatalis was a bit lacklustre. All you could do was add +1 Strength
with Bone Powder, +1 Dexterity with Garlic, +2 Strength with Dragon Bone etc.

Therefore I have created some new enchants, and more items can be enchanted. The power
of your enchantments depend on your Object Knowledge skill, in groups of 20 points.

The other major change is that heavy weapons and armor now inflict a severe stealth
and casting penalty, so no more "Mages-in-plate" so to speak. :)

All strings have been updated to reflect all item changes.

Installation:

To install, simply copy the GRAPH and LOCALISATION folders into your Arx Folder.

Uninstallation:

To remove the mod, simply delete the GRAPH and LOCALISATION folders.

New Enchantments:

Reagent Glow Enchant 20 + 40+ 60+ 80+ 100+ (Object Knowledge Skill)
--------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------
Bone Powder Orange Strength 1 2 3 4 5
Garlic Lime Green Dexterity 1 2 3 4 5
Morning Glory Powder Dark Blue Intelligence 1 2 3 4 5
Water Lily Powder Gold Constitution 1 2 3 4 5
Dragon Bone Powder Ice Blue All Stats 1 2 3 4 5

Diamond White Mage Skills 5% 10% 15% 20% 25%
Emerald Dark Green Thief Skills 5% 10% 15% 20% 25%
Ruby Fiery Red Warrior Skills 5% 10% 15% 20% 25%

Amikar's Rock Lavender Armor Class 5% 10% 15% 20% 25%
Medicinal Herb Powder Purple Poison Resist 5% 10% 15% 20% 25%
Gemstone Sky Blue Magic Resist 5% 10% 15% 20% 25%

Mage Skills = Casting, Etheral Link, Object Knowledge
Thief Skills = Stealth, Technical, Intuition
Warrior Skills = Close Combat, Projectile, Defense

Note that skill bonuses are PERCENTAGES, so you must have a decent amount of points in those skills to get full benefit
from the enchantments. A flat number bonus would allow, for example a warrior to mage a full "Mage Suit" to increase their
skills by a massive amount.

Feedback and Suggestions:

Please post any bugs, questions or suggestions on the forum thread.

Also, do NOT flame me if you don't like the changes, just delete the mod and don't play it.

Thanks,

ArxDave93

I am surprised that Grayface's unofficial patches for Might and Magic 6-8 are not on here. Perhaps unofficial patches don't count as mods? :?:

https://sites.google.com/site/sergroj/mm Grayface's homepage.

A short list of the patches and utilities on his site:

GrayFace MM6 Patch v1.7.2

GrayFace MM6 Patch is unofficial patch for MM6. It includes Mok's patch and Angel's patch. In addition to features like "Always Run" and "Flip On Exit" it adds quick saves, changing controls, playing MP3 tracks, double speed mode and so on. It should run on Windows XP and Vista version without any problems (no need to set compatibility with Win9x).

MM6 Controls v1.1

MM6 Controls is a tool to set up keys for MM6. It changes [Controls] section in mm6.ini of my patch. It also shows key codes which you can use to configure the patches.

GrayFace MM7 Patch v1.2.1

GrayFace MM7 Patch is unofficial patch for MM7. Is includes Mok's patch. Adds quick saves, playing MP3 tracks, double speed mode and so on. It should run on Windows XP and Vista without any problems (no need to set compatibility with Win9x).

GrayFace MM8 Patch v1.1.1

GrayFace MM8 Patch is unofficial patch for MM8. Is includes Mok's patch. Adds quick saves, playing MP3 tracks, double speed mode and so on. It should run on Windows XP and Vista without any problems (no need to set compatibility with Win9x).

Skill Teachers Patch for MM8

This patch makes skill teachers list in Autonotes more readable. If you have GrayFace MM8 Patch installed, just extract archive contents into your MM8 directory. Otherwise, add autonotes.txt from archive into your EnglishT.lod using mm8leveleditor.

Drakensang: The dark eye ---Ergo's FixPack

It adds some more items in the game, balances some stats, rises the difficulty scale of some encounters, etc. It's worth a shot, and it gave me a pretty good reason to replay the game.

Neverwinter Nights : Alazander's trilogy:
Siege of Shadowdale
Crimson Tides of Tethyr
Tyrants of the Moonsea

In my opinion the best fan-made mods ever made for NWN, and it seems that quite a few agree with me, Alazander having quite the succes, being the Lead Designer for Ossina Studios, the guys responsible for Mysteries of Westgate. The beginning of Siege of Shadowdale might be a bit banal/shitty/boring, but after the first dungeon things start to pump up really fast, and...well, the story gets interesting. A must play for pretty much anyone who can cope with the NWN engine (I for one really like it, think it's better than NWN 2's engine for loads of reasons).
