The Game

The T.V. was on and the 8 mm projector was unceasingly turning... It was at that moment that Tony TheFly's alarm clock rang: it was Monday, which meant he had to attend the editing lecture... and he would be late again!

Tony was in the Audiovisual Communication study programme and he had been asked to carry out the whole process for making a shrot film, but things would not be easy...

Classmates would not feel like hard working (for free, obviously), his "wacky" flatmate, a goblin living in inhospitable places, a phone out of battery... in short, as unreal as life itself!

Features:
  • More than 60 locations, carefully filmed in high resolution.
  • No command typing… it includes point n’click technology!
  • Relentless jabs, and cryptic in-jokes only smart people will understand.
  • No need for buying downloadable content… We believe that you should not pay more than 20€ for a computer game!
Minimum System Requirements:
  • Windows XP (SP2) / Vista / 7 / 10
  • Dual Core Processor at 2.2GHz or higher (i3 processors or higher recommended)
  • 2 GB RAM (3 GB RAM for Vista or subsequent ones, 4 GB RAM recommended)
  • Video card: 512 MB Direct3D 9 compatible or OpenGL compatible
  • Hard drive space: 3.6 GB
  • DirectX 9.0c or higher
  • DirectX 9.0c compliant sound card
  • DVD-ROM drive, keyboard and mouse
Suitable for all audiences. Recommended for 7 years of age or over.

Tormentum II, sequel to Tormentum: Dark Sorrow:

Tormentum II, a long-awaited continuation of the dark adventure game inspired by the works of H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksinski, will appear on the Steam platform in 2019.

In 2019, thanks to the Polish studio OhNoo, the door to the dark world of Tormentum will open again. Tormentum II is a Point & Click adventure game taking place in a dark, surreal world full of gloomy characters and repulsive creatures taken straight from the scariest horrors. The hand-drawn graphics, referring to the work of outstanding painters such as H.R.Giger or Zdzisław Beksiński, will take care of the one-of-a-kind impressions that spice up the players with shivers.

tormentum_II_1.jpg

This time the adventure will begin in the future - in a universe where computer games bring relief in a hopeless world devastated by technology. Players will lead the fate of a game creator whose ambition is to create what has never been achieved before - a world inhabited by characters with intelligence equal to that of a human being.

When one day he receives a mysterious package with a strange processor, worrying visions begin to haunt him. Reality mixes with a nightmare, and characters from the game begin to penetrate his world. Or maybe it’s the other way round...

adventure_02.jpg

He decides to place a mysterious processor in his computer. From that moment nothing is certain anymore, and he himself becomes a prisoner of his own creation.

He wakes up in prison on an island in the middle of the sea and starts exploring the world he has created. However, he turns out to be different from his imagination - much less friendly, much more aggressive. However, one thing puzzles him the most: the characters he encounters tell him about a god who lives on one of the most remote islands. About a god who has never been in his game, which he himself has not created.

Players will be able to get to know the huge dark world stretching to several islands. Full of secrets and rich in various creatures. In order to find his way home and find a mysterious god along the way, the protagonist will have to travel through a vast land, which will consist of more than 130 locations - twice as many as in the first part of the adventure.

While wandering around the world, players will encounter situations in which game developers will question their conscience, forcing them to make often ambiguous decisions affecting the fate of the characters they meet. Thanks to such a procedure, the linearity of the game will be disturbed, which will enable more than one ending, depending on the choices made by the protagonist.

The unique atmosphere accompanying the game will be emphasized by a unique musical setting, this time enriched with metal sounds.

Veritas is a game of mystery and discovery from Glitch Games, creators of the Forever Lost trilogy, that poses the question; what is truth, and does it even matter?

Having volunteered to take part in a study conducted by Veritas Industries, you now find yourself waking up in a small room with no memory of what happened the day before.

The last thing you remember is signing on the dotted line and following some nice people wearing white coats, but they couldn’t have been lying to you could they? They were doctors for goodness sake...

In this compact narrative puzzle game, you'll:
  • Explore a dark and foreboding world full of lies and mysteries. You'll need to explore the entire facility to work out what happened and how you can escape.

  • Take photos of everything you find using the Glitch Camera. Be they posters, clues, walls, or disturbing blood stains - and use them later to help solve puzzles and piece together the mystery.

  • Solve lots of puzzles, ranging from inventory based item puzzles all the way to pun-based conundrums. All intricately designed to move the story along, you'll find no pointless filler here - just regular purpose made filler.

  • Be entranced by the beautiful soundtrack composed by Richard J. Moir. It's so good you won't mind listening to it, on repeat, forever, while you're trapped.

The VGA remake of Quest for Glory I. By this point, Sierra’s graphics exceeded the quality of most Saturday-morning cartoons, and weren’t far off the standard set by feature films, being held back more by the technical limitations of VGA graphics than those of the artists doing the drawing.

Apparently early text adventure designer Scott Adams is working on a text adventure based on Redwall series, announced last year and coming in Q4 this year: https://www.facebook.com/pg/ClopasLLC/

QgPcSJb.jpg

This is coming very soon:

ss_cfaa8d212dc023413019704ea836ec00d3df6f0f.1920x1080.jpg

One of a series of six games, The Lost Legends of Redwall: Escape the Gloomer, is created in partnership with Soma Games under license from Penguin Random House UK™ and the Redwall Abbey company™. The Lost Legends of Redwall: Escape the Gloomer is a Conversational Adventure™ game in nine chapters developed by Team Clopas.

Based on the wildly popular best-selling book, Mossflower, and second in the twenty-two book series by Brian Jacques, this interactive tale immerses the Player in the exploits and redemption of Gillig the otter as he tries to overcome his weaknesses, limited resources, and the menace of the monstrous water rat Gloomer.

Before Redwall™ Abbey, there was Kotir Castle, an abandoned fortress built over a large lake near the River Moss. It was taken over by the wildcat Verdauga Greeneyes and his Thousand Eyes army of vermin. Upon his untimely demise, his daughter Tsarmina began her evil rule. Subjugating the woodland inhabitants of Mossflower, this cruel Queen reigned using the army of a Thousand Eyes to collect food tribute from the peaceful forest dwellers. In her arsenal was a very special living weapon. A murderous insane creature kept deep in the bowels of the castle. Captured by her father, Gloomer the Greatrat was rightly feared by all. In these ancient days lived mighty heroes such as Martin the Warrior and Gonff Prince of Mousethieves.

Now our would be champion, Gillig directed by the otter leader Skipper, has been given a very special solo mission. Retrieve an ancient scroll once belonging to Verdauga. On the verge of being exiled from the otter crew, Gillig sees this as an opportunity to prove himself to the otter tribe – if he can overcome his weaknesses.

Your story begins with a descent down a rope into a ruined otter holt near Kotir Castle. What happens next will be totally up to you.

Features:
  • Narrative based game with emphasis on exploration and overcoming obstacles
  • Nine chapters of interactive play with rich descriptions
  • Intuitive UI that enables comfortable reading of text with page controls
  • Family friendly: suitable for ages 12 and up
  • Character development – progress Gillig from timid otter to noble warrior
  • Adds to Redwall lore with new backstories and familiar characters alike
  • Conversational Adventure™ game elements
  • Original illustrations created specifically for the game
  • Sound effects and original musical soundtrack
  • Professional Voice Acting

This Escape the Gloomer is the second game and the first one is that rat game Darth Roxor refunded for technical issues:

Solve clever puzzles and uncover an intriguing story full of mystery and wonder. With “light and shadow” as a core concept, Iris.Fall takes players on a monochrome adventure unlike any other.

Story background:

After awakening from a dream, Iris follows a black cat into a dilapidated theater, traveling back and forth through a strange labyrinth of light and shadow. As the story unfolds, Iris begins to realise that everything in this theater seems to have some kind of hidden connection to herself.

Key Features

• Unique monochrome art style

The game’s visuals use a pure black-and-white cartoon style, relying on the transition between light and shadow to create a distinct experience, both exquisite and visually impactful.

• Fusing gameplay and the “light & shadow” system

The concept of “light and shadow” runs throughout the design of the game’s art, story, and puzzles. By switching between light and shadow, players can pass through the two realities, experiencing the unique interlacing of black and white, light and shadow, 2D and 3D.

• Immersive story experience

Become fully immersed in the plot through the stylized and suspenseful atmosphere of the setting and story. Progress in the game feels more like the player’s spiritual exploration.

Holy hell I completed Black Mirror on PS4.
What a turd.
First, the game is bloody short. I think it lasted me around three hours. Second, it performs like shit. There's basically one location, the mansion, with a small garden which include a cemetary and a church, and still the game has a loading screen for every single room you enter. The story is just bland, I never completed the original Black Mirror because I dropped it when I lost 4 hours of progress when interacting with a wire and dying (didn't even know you could die in the game and I didn't save at all from when I started a new game), but really there's not so much going on here. Graphics are still primitive, and when devs try to do an elaborate animation like the swimming one in the end it just looks goofy.

The final nail in the coffin is the fact the game has randomly subtitles in english when playing (I was playing with italian subs) all around the place, so one phrase is in italian, another in english, the following again in italian. I have no problems with english, but this just shows how THQ didn't bother at all to fix the issues of the game.

Lightstep Chronicles, sci-fi "text-based point-and-click adventure" game with cool 3D visual? Developer has been making almost exclusively hidden object games, but this seems quite a different thing:

Lightstep Chronicles is a dark sci-fi text-based adventure set in a universe where the passage of time is a relative thing.

You play as a military captain exploring an off-world underground crashsite. You discover an ancient spaceship of alien technology and imperial livery, and are then whisked away on an intergalactic adventure of trying to stay alive and relevant in a spaceship that clearly has a hidden agenda. At the heart of Lightstep Chronicles is a text-based adventure, allowing you to communicate with the ship's AI, a manic creature that seems to be at war with itself.

Lightstep Chronicles is set in stunning futuristic art deco off-world locations, sharing the universe of the Dark Horse Comics series Lightstep. The game focuses on the thin line between humanity and artificial intelligence, and the very nature of transcendence.

And on the other side...

From Beyond Prologue, a horror adventure inspired by NES ports of MacVenture games:

In the winter of 1910, professor Crawford Tillinghast mounted an expedition into the mountains of Europe. He went searching for a lost village shrouded in the myths and rumors of a bygone era. This is his story...
