As an update to this topic: apparently sometime June/Julyish an updated version of The Quest will be released on Steam/GOG. So the knuckleheads finally accepted it!

I hope Steam release will make Redshift filthy rich. They completely deserve this.
BTW, their FB has some goodies, such as TQ2 art and stories about the development of earlier games.

Awesome. It's a little on the simplistic side, but I think these guys have potential. If they can somehow mix the party management from Legacy with the open world of The Quest and puree it with a batch of good 'ol PC depth we would have a truly great game.

They are putting in some serious work on the graphics and all else from the sound of that update---excellent and as it should be! Hopefully any other peers they have in that space will take note and mount comparable efforts likewise sooner than later.

Yep, it's eerily similar to The Elder Scrolls where being a pure melee guy is dull as fuck and using magic is where it's at.

Though, sadly, no magic creation.

This is excellent news! For those wondering what the game plays like, it is like a turn-based Morrowind, with better narration and dialogue, and story; plays like a sandbox, a total gem of Eastern European fiction & lore. Some of the best writing ever. Bethesda should get on their knees and worship. 9/10.

I know it was announced in another thread, but this excellent iOS sequel is coming to Steam in less than a month. For those who don't know, this game plays like a turn-based Morrowind, with better narration and excellent dialogue. I would easily say the first game is in my top 100 RPGs of all time. No grinding. No hand-holding. Retro all the way.

Damn! I put in the wrong link. Shows how my mind is working today.

Quest a first person, grid-based game, something like Morrowind, but with turnbased movement and combat. It has a lot of Eastern European flavor. I think a lot of diehard RPG fanatics here would like it.

A friendly reminder that The Quest is probably the most underrated CRPG ever.

Played it on my ipod touch a few years ago but couldn't endure playing proper game on a mobile device. I'll probably buy the pc version when it comes out.

Oh, well, I thought EoB clones would be something real time. Undercroft plays like a generic dungeon crawler, and The Descent costs money so I haven't tried it.

SMT is the only other dungeon crawler on mobile that's any good. Maybe those Wizardry clones and Japanese Wizardry port, but I never got into those. Oh shit, right, and Silversword.

It didn't occur to me that the HD edition would also have the addicting-as-all-hell card game I spend hours on when waiting for the train.

...Fuck.
