I haven't made it past page 1 so i'll remove this post if someone already pointed it out. but this idea that you can always detect a program a cheater made is a form of special pleading.

when you give the cheater's program full access to install all its shit and time to setup, after that time steam is easily fucked as is the people who think they can make a copy of the unlocked version of the cheat. and it's for the same reason actually.

1. You can decrypt and reencrypt a file while maintaining cryptographic security over the contents.
2. You can make a program run with cryptographic security still intact but require an unlock code for it to function. ( see 1)

It would be very slow to do 1 at all times. and games are still about performance somewhat. what's really detectable is the payload. unless the hacker defeats steam, it's encryption protocols, and the drm for the specific game in mind, they can't make the emulation of reasonable expectations about the state of the client-side program not bust them in general. hacking is also about the specific game you're hacking too, so there are cases it's easier. leaving the last concern is can the effects of your hack be detected by unrealistic actions your client is taking. for aimbots pretty much yes.

the payload isn't necessarily an object in memory btw. once the changes are made it can kind of fuck off. oh right if you didn't catch on why 2 is enough to stop from the unlocked cheat to be uploaded. think about 1 more deeply. all i'm saying.

btw men i'm finishing up a demo of this. it's a little more complex than i thought. but not too much.

i think this will be as revolutionary as claude shannon/randomness/information theory/encryption breakthrough. oh fuck. how about RSA! i don't think many people who have thought about the issue understand what i propose is even possible. it's actually quite practical in this age of poweful machines. *redacted final sentence*

Is it worthy before an expansion? There are only four factions or so, and rules still needs some fleshing.

Russian crackers posted a video on the priciples of how to defeat Denuvo on each computer. Its not a straight forward solution and their scripts are not available but Desu Ex has fallen and cant get up.

It's 30 minutes of editing hex files, patching, installing stuff and hacking stuff. Good for them for doing that, but I doubt the average user will do this. One of the main adventage of piracy was always the fast, comfortable installation, where you didn't have to waste your time installing other softwares and creating accounts. This Denuvo hack is ever worse than that. So yeah, get back to me when you have a crack.

This isn't meant for the average user, this is meant for the cracking groups.(especially considering the tools used are custom made). This literally shows how to bypass denuvo completely and make working cracks.
Give it a month or two and every denuvo game is gonna get cracked.
And they can't fix this so easily so i guess piracy won again.

Denuvo changed it's policy to online only. Translated, when you will not have internet for week or so and use rest of Steam without problems in offline mode, you will not play Denuvo games.

Eh from reddit, it seemed that it might or might not be true. There is this person that somehow can't play his God Eater and Deus Ex MD on offline mode, but other people said they do able to play offline.

On the other hand so it is technically a DRM now instead of "anti-tamper."

None of the Denuvo games are must play anyways so I don't really care. And it will not make me buy all that overpriced shit anyways.

I don't think that retroactively activating an online-only mode would be permitted under consumer protection laws.

DRM used to copy protect Steam DRM is still DRM.

And considering they create tickets that allows to run Steam/game, it's DRM.

Steam already did that. I had TW Shogun 2 gold edition, and I was used to run it from installed directory... Until I RMA my CPU. Then when I reactivated... IT FUCKING REQUIRE TO LAUNCH GAME FROM STEAM. Now when I want to murder people with ninjas, I must do it from fucking steam.

Well technically, at least before, it worked by preventing edit to game exe. While that could be used as double DRM like you said, it technically is not DRM. Admittedly my knowledge of how Denuvo worked is limited but couldn't you use it as cheat prevention even on supposedly DRM free game?

Why are there so many of my country here?
Denuvo is ded.
:deadtroll:

If its online now any advantage it had is now gone.
Game companies will make their own intricate DRM systems rather then pay a premium to use something that is compromised.
Online Only they know how to do very well.
