It's slang for a specific type of red deck: fast aggro creatures and burn.

If you're planning to start this tournament somewhere in the next 7-10 days, then remove me from The List, because I won't be able to make it

So I tried a blue deck built around getting the opponent to discard a lot of cards vs a black deck built around getting the opponent to discard a lot of cards. (Duel of ze planeswalkers 2k13, buccaneer cove edition).

Game ended with both players at 20 health, loser with 0 cards and winner with 2 cards. No creatures were ever played 'cause they kept getting discarded. Strange game.

Blue/Black control is probably my favourite archetype, but it's pretty awful in this format and not very fun to play against, since you'll never cast anything that matters. Countered, coutnered, countered, bounce that, discard, discard, you can play that... removal.

Meanwhile, ravenous rats attacks for 1 damage.

Yeh... played duels a bit more but it's beginning to get aggravating. All decks save one are single colour and I 'm not too fond of the synergies in them. There are side cards you can swap in/out but the UI to do so is kinda crap, there's no easy way to get an overview of your decks entire contents and swapping doesn't really alter the basic feel of the deck.

The most fun was had witht he blue card burn deck. But it was really, really dependant on pulling copies of one specific creature early. Forget its name. It was a 1 blu mana 1/1 flying stingray which became 5/5 as soon as opponents had 10 cards in their graveyard. One game I started with 2 of those, a clone, a card that made my opponent discard the top 7 cards of his library and 3 islands. GG.

^ you sound emotionally engaged enough to want to try yourself in the tournament.

Anyways, playing the different decks made me want to try a different archetype as well :'(

Not because I lose because my deck has been performing solidly, but a deck built around flying blue creatures, disruption/counterspells and shadows looks so fun.

I'll be submitting mine by friday at the latest. Deck construction is taking me a while, but getting there.

So tired of reading cards. It never ends.

Same here, biuding the deck is taking way more than I expected.... I'll try looking into those pre-made lists to get the remaining cards.

It says so in the OP. You send the Cockatrice deck-file as well as a text-file version of the deck (says how in the OP) to herostratus.

Nah, I'm at the stage where I'm still checking every card in DotPW 2k13 to see what the keywords do. There's no way I'd make a 100-card deck in time short of blatant thievery.

    Say...

I'm planning to make a codex playground thread actually. Initially I'm hoping andrzej can "shoutcast" them, latorz I can do it myself. There is a "replay" function in cockatrice, how does one use it and how does one save it? It would be fair to require the winner to send the replays to me for validation.

Okay, too much work making a deck. I'm bad at this. I still want to play though. Is someone willing to share me one of their spares? I'd play with it, I don't expect to win anyway.

Bro, just do what I did. Choose 2 or 3 colors, 40 lands split between your colors, go to the gatherer website that has been postes before and filter them by your colours and by common rarity. Then arrange them by community feedback and choose those that you find interesting.

Just be mindful that the community is a bit retarded, they often give commons poor ratings comparing them to rares and things like that.

I can make you a deck bro, I have the time. But it HAS to be today. Can you hit me up on skype to tell me a bit about your preferences (color and type of deck)? If so, I'll get it done today.
    This would be so awsum.

^ Indeed. But it will take some time, perhaps too much - so I'm thinking of ways to filter down the amounts of games covered. The cockatrice replay client being underwhelming doesn't help (herp my derp, it has some kinda real-time replay mode for this turn-based game. Making a summary of what happened each turn wasn't good enough oh no)

One way is to make the thread in playground now, make a vote on "who will win" and cover the crowd favourites early on. As a supplement, those pairs who wishes to write some coverage of their own match can chime in. Then we keep it minimal by only covering the most important matches later on.
