Yes they will. People will go "hey, you know the story how Chris Avellone, MCA of the World, came to power right?" "Nope." "His company Obsidian made this awesome sequel to this shitty game made by some french medical company." "That's cool trivia!" "Just waiting for it to appear as a question in Trivial Pursuit: Alpha Protocol 32 Edition."

In the full version of Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, players obtain Reinforcement Packs using credits earned while playing the game. These packs may include weapons, upgrades, consumables and new characters to play. Based on player feedback during the demo period, the drop rate for rare race/class combinations and weapons has been improved.

For players who do not wish to spend time earning these multiplayer credits through matches, they will have the option to purchase certain packs through real currency. Our goal is to allow all Mass Effect 3 players the ability to experience the best equipment, characters, etc in multiplayer regardless of how much time they have to spend.

Is this the point where BioWare finally jumps the shark?

When drama hits up!

The Geth / Quarian Scenario is like EA / Biodrones and Shepard is Bioware.

EA: "We cannot make you rich without full consent, Bioware."

BSN: "Please, Bioware, I needses muh waifus!!!!"

EA: "We can give you the funding, all the DLC content packs you create will yield untold billions."

Bioware: "Upload the consent."

BSN: "My waaaiiiifuuuuuuus *end of line*"

Why isn't thee an option to murder both races?

Quarians: Whiny fuckers who are terminally ill anyway.
Geth: Whiny fucktards who has the potential to become the next Reapers.

SV Shepard would have corrupted the upload, shot Tali in the face and then watched as the Geth killed the Quarians and then self-destructed. :smug:

Judging by what's been said in this thread, you can! First, murder the Quarians, then, choose the Destroy All Synthetics ending option and voila.

Just in case this wasn't posted before...

Today I got some good news to share with everyone: We will soon be releasing Origin 8.5, a brand new update chock-full of changes. We’ve been listening a lot to your feedback, and with this release, we’re introducing a couple of really cool and highly-requested features: custom avatars and the ability to hide games, demos, and betas. But that’s not all! Origin 8.5 also extends cloud storage options to a number of new games, including Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and the upcoming Mass Effect 3, letting you play (and save) your games from any Origin-enabled PC.

For the full list of changes, here’s the official rundown of the release notes for Origin 8.5:

• Added the ability to upload custom avatars.
• Added cloud storage support for a number of additional EA games, including Mass Effect 3.
• Added captcha verification for increased security.
• Improved relevancy of friend search results.
• Progress bar now displays when installing games.
• Streamlined Origin update and installation processes.
• Game Add-Ons (DLC) can now be purchased and installed directly through Origin.
• Updated the look and feel of the Origin client.
• Users can now invite multiple friends to play at once.
• Users can now hide games in their Game Library.

As you can see, we’re always working towards improving Origin and hope to make even more improvements in the future. If you have any feedback about what you’d like to see in future releases, let us know – we love to hear from you. Look for the wide release of Origin 8.5 very soon. But if you want to download it now, just visit Download Origin and click on the “Download Origin” button to get yourself set up.

Thanks everyone!

If you think that this kind of set up was possible in KOTOR you will realize how much they have gone down the dunghill.

So much shit, so much shit, so much shit... I mean, how shitty can it possibly be? So Shepard takes the decision to exterminate the race of that bitch, he makes it before her very fucking eyes (if she has them, of course) and, as the whole world of her fucking collapses, what does she do? Does she take her gun out and blast the hell out of the robot that it transmitting the death of her people? Does she tries to take revenge on the guy that basically said "sure, genocide them"? Does she try to do anything except asking them not to do it politely? What the fuck? Is she what, mentally retarded? She probably is, but since it is aimed on also retarded auditory we're almost sure too see this mess hailed as one of the most dramatic episodes in the history of gaming EVAR. Fuck.
That's what I was thinking.

I mean, what the fuck? She was upset I'm sure, but wasn't Tali supposed to be intelligent and independent and emotionally strong? Why the fuck does she commit suicide rather than doing any number of other logical things? It's not just a gigantic cocktease (the mask thing), it's also completely out of character for her.

This introduces another question: why the fuck couldn't they just wait to upload the code, until after the battle was done? I did skip around a bit but it just seems like saying "let's do it later" would have completely negated any and all drama there.

I guess this is what BioWare meant about "hard choices" - decide between your squad members becoming spontaneously retarded and suiciding in the most fanfic-tastic ways possible, or the lives of millions. Because those are pretty fucking easy choices, knowing how annoying your average BioWare companion is.

I guess Bioware just found no way to give their story enough weight so they just decided to kill old and liked characters off left and right in hope of provoking some kind of emotional reaction from their players. Logic? What's that? This is hard sci-fi, it's not needed.

Why are they even fighting, isn't there a more pressing matter like genocidal robots rampaging through the galaxy?

Some AAA quality trolling from Bioware though (yeah, who could've guessed) - teasing to reveal her stupid face only to actually focus on her back (otherwise it wouldn't be an Ass Effect, after all). Are we sure that none of the bioware writers & designer sit here under some fake aliases? No codexian can ever hope to troll biodrones as well as they did with this game, and they actually get paid for it.
The best part is that they completely fuck up even a basic suicide scene by leaving it to focus on Shepard leaning over the cliff, looking like he smelled something mildly unpleasant.

Why are they even fighting, isn't there a more pressing matter like genocidal robots rampaging through the galaxy?
Because organics and synthetics can never get along, duh.

Apparently the mini-Reapon on that planet is controlling the Geth somehow and they were ambushing the Space Gypsies and now that its dead, the Quarians will genocide the Geth. After Shepard allows Legion to upload the code, Tali orders their fleet to disengage but some other Quarian Admiral overrides her and orders everyone to press the attack. She begs Shepard to interrupt Legion's uploading and after it's clear that the Gypsies have lost the battle and are, practically, wiped out, she commits suicide. Best part is that Legion dies as well because apparently uploading the magical code is too stressful or something.

Yeah, fucking stupid. Order Legion to assume command and tell the Geth fleet to get hell out of Dodge, THEN upload the code in which case Shepard could mobilize both races to help Earth. Or Tali could just shoot Legion before he finishes uploading it leading into a situation where Shepard has to shoot her before she pulls the trigger (EXTREME!) or allow her to go through with it - which would fuck up their relationship anyway, as "you were willing to let my entire race be slaughtered!" is pretty high up there on the scale of dickish things to do to a comrade.

Fuck, did I come up with a better resolution for that "choice" than Bioware writers in 30 seconds?

~ Sensors aren't related to power. When you power a radar system, you put power into the waves you send out. You aren't sending out radio waves in space, you are simply receiving light and other electromagnetic radiation.
When I designed current tech ship it was about

SRS and cooling 300 kW.
communications receiving and processing with cooling 140 kW.
Big optical sensor for long range deep space detection and short range detailed target identification. 300-800 kW.
High energy tight beam transmitting 800 kW.

About 1.8 MW cooling included.

Nope. Propeller makes enough noise to be heard on passive sonar, the only question is distance. Just like a space ship could utilize thermal sensors to spot the engines of other space ships.
Well there was that famous incident when two SSBNs hit each other because they both found a nice spot for loitering, and both moved in from different directions.
In addition there is a pump-jet propulsion.

Torpedo homing relies on sonar signature but they can also be pre-programmed (to go to a certain location before trying to find a target) or be wire-guided. Target can always to try mask their sonar signature with a decoy but that's always iffy and no sub can carry that many of them to begin with.
There are more decoys than torpedoes that can be used against SSN before SSN would manage to strike back.

They are not. They do not need to worry about air and leaks are only a problem if they are below the water line. Even a proper hole in the hull is not an emergency thanks to water-tight compartments and good bulkheads. Submarine, on the other hand, is fucked if there's a hole or a leak, just like a space ship. Both have to worry about heat, about air, about consumables in a way that no other branch of the military ever has to.

Space warships should have breach systems and operate in inert atmosphere when in combat. A few holes, in properly designed warship, are next to irrelevant.
Considering 130 days on sea is an incredibly long duty for a SSN, and a space warship done in current tech would need at least few years endurance for a single mission. Things are quite different.

But it's not, so it's no. Sorry bro. Aircraft are designed to be operated for a dozen hours or so, thanks to crew fatigue, fuel and ordnance.
I remember some person who said he was flying about 13 hours or so without interruption.

Are not high intensity CAS missions 3x a day, though they might switch the pilot, but it's more useful to have one pilot to who have already flew in that area recently.

A normal combat mission tends to be about 5 hours. Preflight preparations and amphetamine dose included.
It'd still be more close to air warfare than that - heavily reliant on mobility, since a bunch of smaller and faster interceptor vessels would punch holes in a capital ship while it'd try to aim.

Which air warfare are you talking about? WWII like dogfights, or current which does strange maneuvers at distance and plays with energy and long range missiles?

well there is third choice where you do exactly what you said. save both races, its just harder to get. just sayin:troll:

Sensors in space require a LOT of cooling - the MOST cooling out of all current technology. This is because superconductors are used, and they are used because in space they can reach the very very very low temperature that the materials need to display superconductive properties. At the same time, when you're running a current through zero resistance, the result is heat. And, again, these materials are not superconductive when heated up. Thus why space tech is one of major applications of cryogenics.

That boils down to an individual engagement then, more than a general rule, I'd say though I'm no expert of sub warfare. In any case, it doesn't really change my point which was that submarines firing torpedoes are not more visible than air planes firing missiles.

Space warships should have breach systems and operate in inert atmosphere when in combat. A few holes, in properly designed warship, are next to irrelevant.
Well, I didn't intend to mean that a single little breach will immediately mean the destruction of either a sub or a space craft but that the tolerances are much closer to each other there than when comparing surface navies or air planes. Plus, even if the ship sinks, you still have lifeboats. If your submarine sinks, everyone dies - pretty much like in a space craft. Sure, you could install some sorts of lifepods but with the distances involved and the potential destructive energy of engines/magazines cooking off, I'd wager they would be as useful as that "escape door" in a sub.

Considering 130 days on sea is an incredibly long duty for a SSN, and a space warship done in current tech would need at least few years endurance for a single mission. Things are quite different.
Well, my point still stands - when was the last time even a B-52 or B-2 bomber undertook a 130 day mission? Never. Hence my argument that submarines are closer to any future space "navy" than the air force.

Are not high intensity CAS missions 3x a day, though they might switch the pilot, but it's more useful to have one pilot to who have already flew in that area recently.
With satellite topography, navigational aids and AWACS support, I'd prefer to have rested pilot than one who has just flown in that area but that's just me. I don't know the operational doctrine of USAF, though I guess we have both read the same stories about Kwa pilots flying way too long in a row, pumped up with drugs to stay "sharp". And then end up bombing a wedding or something.

We should definitely take this into a thread of its own in GD or something though.
