    YOU NO RIKE GRORIOUS THREADU?

YOU COMPRAIN ABOUT LACK OF TRRORU?

DING DONG....Aaah, fuck it! It's not really funny any more, anyway. At least not here.

If anyone is still interested there is a real shit storm in the making in this thread here http://social.bioware.com/forum/Mas...lowed/Mass-Effect-3-From-Ashes-9403705-1.html

Aparently some of the sheeple figured out their beloved Bioware is trying to fuck them over for an aditional 10 bucks for the Brothean DLC, and started to rebel. The Bio Schutzstaffel members are trying to defend the move but are becoming increasingly outnumberd.

No, I'm sure they're aware of the DLC business, but like all herd-grazing herbivores, a stampede only happens when one of the flock gets too spooked and makes a move, triggering an avalanche of reactions amongst the entire herd.

While we talk about sheeple, naming your titular character Shepard is quite telling, don't you think, I mean, you can't get more obvious than that.

TPB still has the best deals when it comes to acquiring DLCs. They offer you complete packages nearly for free.

I would agree, but I don't think they are that insidious. Primarily because they are not smart enough. Bioware I mean.

You shop there? Me too! If you ask me it's by far more superior to Steam and Origin. It provides the best shoping expirience a man could ever want

The From Ashes thread at BSN is incredibly out of hand, two pages in a mere minute. I didn't read all of it but a skim off the top and the bottom and I doubt to no one's surprise its business as usual at BSN; the following seems to sum up pretty well the general opinion of the supporters:

Another presentation of curious Biodrone logic there, for those not yet sick of it, myself not included but regrettably still fascinated.

In retrospect, I remember thinking the Prothean companion was a sign the leak might have been fake, because not even Bioware could be that dumb.

Because they are lying fucks. The funny thing is you don't really need any solid proof to say that they're lying. If the Brothean is DAY ONE DLC, there is no way in hell it was produced after the core game which went gold 2-3 weeks before launch.

Some fellow over at the BSN thread had the rather reasonable idea of giving the DLC away for free to owners of both ME1 and ME2, to top off the end of the trilogy by rewarding the long-time fans with something that was perhaps silly but at least something.

If Bioware cared for their fanbase that's probably what they would have done; considering that Bioware and EA have admitted Bioware sells to a niche no one else caters to, and that the ME trilogy has been, at least mellifluously, bent on utilizing previous save files, rewarding the dedicated niche seems good long-term business practice. Why Bioware is trying to appeal to the thuroughly catered-to market of the shooter fans seems contradictory to their own beliefs, the only possible characteristics to blame here is the ignorant gall of EA and the unprincipled spine of Bioware. I don't like any Bioware game but for the love of standard goodness I wish Bioware would at least pull some move to the contrary.

This sort of language is used more than once in BioWare threads, and something doesn't follow.

BioWare isn't supposed to "care" for fans. BioWare isn't their mother. BioWare is just a company that puts games on retailer's shelves. BioWare fans only relationship with BioWare is that they pay money to BioWare and receive a copy of a BioWare game in turn. And the relationship ends there. One time quid pro quo for each product. Nobody owes the other party anything beyond that.

What on earth do we mean by "relationship" with fans or "caring" for fans? It's like fans are the demanding girlfriend, and BioWare is the boyfriend whose duty is to call her or take her out for dinner every week. Obviously, it doesn't work like that.

And why should it? It's not like every member of the public is entitled to be a backseat game designer to whom the function of making the game is crowd-sourced. And it's not like crowd-sourcing will make games better, as if someone should call the shots on a game without having borne a single penny for development costs or without bearing the responsibility to distribute or sell the game.

    Game developers owe you nothing.

Conversely, customers owe developers nothing beyond paying for a game they enjoy. Talk of being "loyal" fans irks me more, personally.

Sure, that's business. But good business isn't solely the customer determining what size cock he's willing to have shoved up his ass.

Who ever said that they owed anyone anything? They don't have to care about their customers, true, but it's a good business move to at least pretend to do so.
