I wanted to install tf2, but downloading 11 GB with Steam's 20kb/s (Steam is so fast an convenient right valve fanboys?) is too much for this boring, banal, shit idea stolen from a 1997 quake 1 mod.

Maybe. What're you asking for 'em? I'd definitely be interested in the minigun since I play the hell out of Heavy, usually using the standard minigun.

I'm a national socialist, so... you give whatever the heck you feel like giving and I'll trust that you'll be fair enough not to screw me over like you do all of those other TF faggots. (And I won't screw you over like I do the other denizens of that retardoland.)

Look up zen112 whenever you have time to spare.

True. The download speed on steam sucks, I try every region and it's always slower than my average speed. On the gog downloader I got Twitcher 2 at 1.8 MB/s all the time, while on steam it's a rare event to even get close to that rate.

I can't believe for all these years people were praising this.

I finally downloaded and played TF2 for the first time last week. A waste of bandwidth. Where to start, first the classes were extremely slow for no reason that I can see. I had to play as a scout to even feel something similar to other FPS. The only explanation I have is that the noobs are too stupid to think faster and therefore the game has to be slowed down.

The Maps also suck for some reason. I can't really explain it, they are just so random and have no structure. This is a team game, why did it feel like team deathmatch? Everything is so packed, there's no strategy.

But the worse thing by far that made be quit was the extremely short duration of map rotations. You would play on a map for as low as 4 minutes. Sometimes the timer would be "extended" to 8-10 minutes. It seemd that 1 flag cap, 1 control point capture was all it took for the map to end. Oh wow. I remember back in the day when every CS map was 45 minutes, or Tribes map typically 45-60 minutes. Here it seemed a new map rotated every 15 minutes, just like Battlefield Heroes. It's unbearable, it means that NO ONE ever communicates, there is 0 strategy, 0 teamwork, 0 chances to have epic comebacks, to fall behind, to dominate, to adapt to your enemy while they adapt to you etc There is no storyline, just a constant mindless craze.

In short it's aimed at busy people who play video games for 30 minutes a day, the same crowd CoD targets. It's a casual FPS. And don't get me started on $13 hats. I just can't believe people praised this shit. At least Battlefield Heroes has better classes and more customization.

Oh and if you like Team Fortress, play any of the other incarnations. They're all good. Just not this one.

I like the game, it's a good casual fun like you mentioned. I pop it up, play a few maps with friends, and disconnect. Like multiplayer games used to be before the e-sport bullshit.

Also this game is nothing like COD, COD is the sort of FPS that is only fun in a competitive scene, much like CS.

A quest given to you by a man which you surely can trust! Yes sir, I won't sell you out like I did to that guy in Strife, oh no.

    What's "strange" do?

I enjoyed TF2 for about a week after I bought it, and have played it off and on up until they started adding a bunch of new items.

"Strange" items do nothing except being weapons with a title associated with it. What title they have is dependant upon how many kills you've racked up with it. In short, a weapon that gains levels.

There is no additional bonus or penalty for having the title. It's only an indicator of how many you've killed with the weapon.

And of course, you only get the Strange weapons from crates... currently only Soldier, Demo and Heavy weapons come in Strange flavours, but expect more class weapons to be added with future updates.

Speaking of updates, TF2 is now dropping some sort of "Summer Cool" crate that expires after a set amount of time. This is similar to the Christmas crate they had during the Holidays, and everyone received 1 free key to use during that event.

Played some TF2 with Villain earlier and IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. Strange minigun doing annoying popups, Villain destroying people with the demoknight set. To cap the whole evening off I found a Teddy Roosebelt in a drop.

How are you people so lucky with drops? :x

I bought a key to open a summer box, and all I got was a lousy Golf Club. Could have bought a game with that money...

Should have waited -- they usually give people a free key for the seasonal crates. As for the strange weapons I'll wait until I can get a strange kritzkrieg!

Good thing this one is FUCKING AWESOME THEN RIGHT BRO? *BRO FIST*

Have to admit taking perverse pleasure in the game being free now so I can get a top round score in the 60s while the second place player has 14. Probably should be playing more spy, pyros don't spycheck any more.

TF2 is not bad for a casual game. It's just too derp to be enjoyed, therefore it's not good either. You might play it for a while, but you'll probably move to something else very soon.

Playing on some servers now is really ridiculous, I was about 30+ points ahead everyone as a sniper last night :smug:
