I ordered a DNA test kit from 23andme.com, sent my sample and just got my results back.

I have 3% Neanderthal DNA, that's at the 94th percentile for East Asians.

Oh, one can do a lot of things with 23andme raw files. Here, for instance: http://www.forumbiodiversity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3

I've been taking part in all those Dodecads and Eurogenes, but you don't even necessarily have to send your data to projects any more, just use GEDmatch: http://gedmatch.com/ , which offers a fair amount of calculators. Still, you'd probably want the spreadsheets for comparison.

For example, here is the K=12b spreadsheet for Eurogenes to which you can compare your results: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ato3EYTdM8lQdERYVzRaZXQ4SjFmQjloZ1lBWDNSOXc#gid=0 (it's better for participants to compare their results to those of other participants, and for calculator users to those of other calculator users).

Say, here are my results from the calculator (slightly different from the project):

    Compared to assorted Eurogenes calculators:

P.S. I'm only 2.8% Neanderthal, "86th percentile among East European users, 80th percentile among North European users".
    alkeides Brofists this.

Interesting, unfortunately I forgot my secret answer (I typed some random gibberish) which you need to download the raw data, will report back when I reset it.

With full genome sequencing quickly progressing towards a sub $1000 price, I'd rather wait for that to be under $100 by around 2020 than do a more simplistic test now.

    It's sub $1000 already. :)
we're also working on a method of DNA-sequencing by pulling it through a nanopore, if that works out it will be considerably cheap.

What really blows my mind is the databases that will be established - together with medical histories. The information gained could reach unbelievable levels.

A "future condition" is not really a "pre-existing" condition right?

I don't know which results I should post here but I got some interesting results from the calculators at GEDMatch using my 23andMe data.

Using Davidski's Eurogenes K9 admixture model, I'm around 94% East Asian but with around 1% South Asian, 4% Siberian and 0.2% Mediterranean.

I'd be fucking mixed. Probably 5% African (has to probably come in somewhere even though I'm fucking pale), further than that mostly German, French, Dutch, English and Scottish all mixed into one. Very mixed heritage, with strongest links to Scotland and Germany.
