I hope we are given the best gear early on. I hated how in previous games you had to have high skill and research requirements to wield the most powerful items.

What are the prerequisites for wielding and firing the Railgun in System Shock 1?

They stopped being in legal limbo. Night Dive Studios bought them a while ago.

In reality it wasn't much of a limbo, they just belonged to an obscure insurance company that was hard to reach.

Well it might be collaboration between both studios. With kickstarter coming they will be able to gather money and hire more people for this project.

Also system shock 3 should get something like 4mln easily especially with some of original creators behind it.

Dude Underworld isn't even out from design phase.
Ofcourse they will do kickstarter now*. Imo they announced it early they will be doing some iformation for moths leading to kickstarter late next year.

I'm pretty sure they're planning on reusing the Underworld codebase (aka "improvisation engine") for SS3, which should cut the workload and costs a bit.

Dude Underworld isn't even out from design phase.

The same can be said of TToN at the times of BT4 kickstarter.

I think OtherSide would be open to Kickstarting (or perhaps Figstarting?) this before Underworld's release, but I don't think they have the manpower to spare at the moment. Unless they want to really half-ass the campaign, which would be bad.

One possibility is that the Night Dive Studios people would do all the campaigning work.
