Stellaris Modding - Ascendancy circa 1995, Dawg

Anyone here into modding Stellaris?

I'm making a mod for Ascendancy-style gameplay, because let's face it Ascendancy is an objectively better game but with fewer features and worse AI. Here's what I've got to do:

  • Chomache - instantly research next technology (completed -- research x100 on 1 planet for 30 days)

  • Govorom - make a planet into a gaia world (completed --- gaia world can be completed in 30 days)

  • Mebes - double population space (completed -- 2x population growth)

  • Dubtaks - steal other technology

  • Orfa - can build on any land (Completed -- colonize uninhabitable planets without even terraforming)

  • Capelons - planets invulnerable for 1 day

  • Fludentri - ships regenerate

  • Arbryls/Frutmaka - Block travel to your stars

  • Marmosians - Force others to go to war with a race you're warring

  • Baliflids - Force peace with a race you're warring

  • Chronamyst - Faster FTL

  • Nimbuloids - Fast build speed for a time

  • Oculons - Galactic map revealed

  • Hanshaks - Can speak with all races from day 1
Of course after patch 2.0 I'm also going to change technology, buildings, etc.

I've already figured out how to make these activatable abilities (planetary edicts -> country events --> static modifiers), but if anyone knows how to get some of these abilities to work, that would be spaceballs. For a lot of the modifiers, it doesn't seem like they're working as they should.

Also, I figured out how to make name lists, but haven't expanded into making the lists being used by the AI and other things.

I'm additionally rebalancing the awesome mod Culture Overhaul, which has a great structure but lacking bonuses. So far it's going swimmingly.

You guys have any cool ideas or things you're modding?

The main thing I remember about this game is that you could make a ship with 100% damage resistance, so that the AI simply couldn't kill it and it would roll unstoppably through everything because it was invincible.
