    LOLZ so emo...

You don't want to buy it don't..who gives a fuck--Its a good price anyway. Especially for people who have never played it. If its a choice between $4.99 to steam or torrent? I'll go with steam.

Do you occasionally burn 5 dollar bills just for the lulz? Because, you know it's exactly the same.

Troika is dead, this will all go to Kotick and his cronies shareholders. Don't feel bad about getting the even better deal in the Bay of the Buccaneers

So you retardo my good friend Konjad's insightful threads left and right, but steam ads are a-ok? It's sickening.

I have the DVD. Bought it a few years after release (from a bargain bin for 10€ or so).
The way I see it, you don't just support the dev but also the sort of game. (Of couse, the suits will probably not notice, but still...) And there is always the threat of legal action for torrenting. So everybody has to decide for themselves.

But steam-ads? Seriously? Don't we already have a thread for shit like that?

That's the way I see it too. When you pay 4$ for a game anyway, it's not like your financial contribution to the publisher is gonna change things. But it's one more sale for a great game, and you never know...

I see psychological pricing is working wonders on idiots like you. It's 5 dollars, not 4.

Ironic, considering the whole point of my post was to say that the amount of money asked is so low it's completely irrelevant. I understand a 1$ difference might make a big difference for you though.

Sorry, I meant a 0.99 cts difference. :troll:

By the time I discovered Bloodlines, Troika had gone bankrupt and the game wasn't available in stores. I have no intention of paying for the game now.

I bought it because I like my games to be on Steam. I already own the retail, but it's easier this way.

I can see where he's coming from. Personally, I find it convenient. If Valve was to go bankrupt in the near future, I'd pirate any games I lost, so I'm not too worried about that. For me it just saves me a few seconds clicking through folders, and I like both the autopatching (yeah, I know some folks hate that) and the ability to transfer my games between computers. It's saved me some hassle when I've wiped my disk due to being assraped by a computer virus.

But mostly, I'm one of those guys who just inadvertently destroys all my CD-cases:-(.

I've still got my Bloodlines CD (in the storage unit my wife made for me, after getting pissed off with all the broken CD cases), so the sale doesn't really apply to me, but $5 is frankly as good as free. Not knocking folks if it isn't - when I was a student I'd sure pay attention to $5, but now? No. I'd happily pay $5 not to have to bother opening my web browser to type in a torrent site, find a torrent and wait 4 days for the thing to download (because torrents suck in Australia - shitty bandwith multiplied by most seeders being on the other side of the world). I could download it in comparable time to Steam if I use a filesharing service, which I've done on occasion, but that's still spending money. Frankly, even if the money is going to a dick of a publisher, I'd still spend anything up to $20 just to contribute to the perceived financial viability of good games.
