They promised regular financial reporting to backers. Funders got none.

They promised Open Development. Funders got none.

They promised accountability, then modified the ToS (multiple times) to remove it.

They promised mod-able multiplayer (hosted by the players.) Funders got none.

They promised a hundred star systems. Funders got one.

They promised financial responsibility. Then bought $20,000 space doors for their office and a $20,000 coffee machine.

They promised stretch goals. Then deleted the page they hosted for them.

They promised delivery dates. Then missed every single one by months, if not years.

They promised the BDSSE. Funders got ~15% of a partially playable pre-alpha demo.

WoW is dying from old age. It says there are around 1-2 millions active characters (above 20 lvl) left.
No wonder they want to launch a "classic" server.

1-2 million is still a lot of subscriptions.... but it's nowhere near 8 million from WOTLK

They have reportedly made some big improvements in their netcode and have tested up to 60 players in one area with stable framerates

Big if true considering that up to this point they've had unplayable framerates with more than a dozen players.

These are all the words to analyze in deciding whether to reserve optimism

60? Let me know when they can have about 1,000 all in the same star system and it still be stable.
pretty sure they can do that already... the hard problem is high numbers of players within line of sight of eachother. 60 players on screen with stable framerates is pretty impressive. Of course it's yet to see if this will make it to public release.

Also, the people who are saying that they're gearing up for an Early Access launch...lol hasn't it been in Early Access since 2014?

If people mean they're trying to release on steam, I don't see that happening. Steam wouldn't allow CIG's external way of handling microtransactions through their own store, they require it goes through their own systems.
