Everybody's favorite homoerotic, CGI-bloodied gladiator show is back.
    Thoughts on the new series?

it's the exact same stuff again. I think they replaced more actors than just spartacus. same type of battles, same stupid dialog. you'll like it if you liked previous series.
something I didn't like was the music. fucking arab mosque music in rome?

So how much tits, pussy, ass and dicks is there compared to season 1? Less? More? Same? Bigger? Smaller? Better? Is there a Mr Skin review you can link me to or something?

Our oiled gladiators stormed a brothel filled with lots of naked whores and their naked roman customers. One even took it up the ass by a whore sporting a dildo. Very codexian. Lots of dick stabbing and gutting followed but no lingering soft porn shots unfortunately.

Sounds like they're back on track for after a lukewarm 1.5th season

Like who? All I saw was new faces - of course they have a bigger support cast now. As for the premiere... Meh, new Spartacus is kinda lame but will have to see how he shapes up in the following episodes; it's the loss of Batiatus that'll probably be more harmful to the show.

Yeah I guess it could have just been new characters, it's not like they were very memorable.

S2 of Game of Thrones won't premiere until April 1st, so enjoy Spartacus in the meantime. :M

This is part of why I haven't started watching this season, until I hear from more people whether it's worth the time. Batiatus was the best part of the show, and the focus on him and his schemes is one of the main reasons the prequel series was better than the 1st season.

Does this season still have smug bastards plotting to elevate themselves, while spewing amusing obscenities? Or is it just tits, faggotry, and next-gen slomo gore?

I don't understand why Crixus is now the wisened warrior and Spartacus is the foolish testosterone-driven idiot. When did that happen?

Probably at the same time when Spartacus aged backwards 10 years :(

    RIP Andy Whitfield :(

Will keep watching the show as long as the writing doesn't take a dip. First season was brilliant, second season was between good and great.

Lucretia survived and (apparently) became insane because of what happened to her. (I think she's faking it though).

There's still Illythia and Glaber to consider, I think they're the main bad guys this season. And Ashur returns as well.

Maybe we should give the writers some more credit? I certainly didn't expect Blood and Sand to turn out the way it did after watching the first three episodes...

Although there's no denying that losing John Hannah and Andy Whitfield affects the show.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't written off this season without even watching it. The main reason I haven't started is just time/priorities. And Blood and Sand did have massive incline as the season moved along, starting off like shit, but ending up very good.

Fuck this Spartacus bullshit. Make a new series about the subverted adventures of Batiatus and Ashur, my favourite characters.

No. Apparently they had planned it though. HBO prevented a good show from going total Derp.

Yeah, I find the Roman politicking a lot more interesting than proto-kwan FREEDOMLANDERS.

The breasts in Spartacus are pretty crap (i.e. real). Haven't seen anything remarkable since one of the first episodes in Season 1.
