I am playing this game, and so far I am liking it. There is a SHIT ton of star systems, and at least 30 different ship designs. I've played about an hour in, Idk if the quests in the game are copy and pasted shit yet, so i'll keep my ear to the ground for you all.

Played beta, was enjoyable but got old very fast. Missions are tedious and hunting for those schematics gets boring. Dunno if something changed but during my play lasers and cannons were seriously underpowered compared to missiles.

Jesus god damn Christ my key still doesn't work on Steam. How the hell did they fuck this up? I've never heard of someone, indie or no, having this much trouble getting god damn CD keys on Steam. I am very upset about this video game.

did you try inputting it as a single alphanumeric string without the dashes/hyphens/whatever else there is besides letters and numbers?

after a +10 hours you will realize that there is very few mission types compared to number of star systems and also you will realize that for a last 5 hours you are hunting upgrades and nothing more. apart from that the game is Great

Yep. I've been reading all their posts on multiple forums because the fucking jerks have made it clear as mud what's going on. Plus with the way they're acting they'll probably just try to pull a "LOL SORRY MISSED OUT ON YOUR CHANCE FOR STEAM!" on me even though they said "LOL ALL VERSIONS WILL ACTIVATE ON STEAM DON'T WORRY!" before launch, with no mention of this limited bullshit.

where did you buy it from?
Greenman Gaming.

And I did download it Mr Blue Man. Downloaded and installed via the installer they linked on their forums. Also tried downloading and installing via Greenman Gaming, but the Greenman Gaming download takes a shit and crashes as soon as I try to launch it. So I'm hoping launching it from the installer provided on their forum will count as "Activating it" to get it on to the list.

Turned a few stations into burned out hulks untill one of the story side-mission wiped me out. Are these level scaled or something? It's in a level 12 system, I am level 23 and while I went through the escorts like a hot knife through butter the station and warp gates fuck me up. Really, I can hardly dent the shields before they destroy me.

Attacking the in-system UTA base however poses absolutely no problem. Circle and strafe and so on.

Base power depends on the faction influence in the system I think. Well, I haven't played since beta so I'm probably wrong, but it's a factor worth looking at. You can also check what the enemy tech levels are actually focused on; sometimes the enemies have crazy strong missiles for example, while their shields or hull are piss weak. If they are focused on shields, it's probably worth switching to a beam focused weapon layout to take them down more fficiently.

Patch just showed up on Steam.

fixed uncommon spec achievement sometimes not working
fixed fusion beams, mines, particle cannon now cause anger in enemy ships
fixed mass driver can pass through zombie killer shields
fixed no acheivement credit for re-exploring stars
fixed sometimes warpin stuck ship state
changed balance of power starbase not an insanely strong

So that bottom line of engrish might be fixing your issue.

As far as I can tell, there is no level scaling. I took out some civilian space stations for their tech. There aren't any real penalties for just backstabbing the UTA and the civies, so if you want you could just raid everyone.

Played a few hours of this. Starts out pretty slow, but once I got a ship I liked the feel of I'm starting to see the appeal. It IS grindy as all hell and super simple, but if you're a gamer who enjoys obsessively watching numbers get larger then you'll have a good time. Flying around and scooping up kool kredits and bros is certainly appealing, and I could see the ship customization being fun if it has enough depth to it.

One thing though, god damn. Wish the WASD controls moved your ship in that direction on the screen, using whatever thrusters it should. I keep doing shit in combat like aiming my ship to the left of the screen and hitting A expecting to fly left, instead I fly down.
