When people say that HotU is "good" they actually mean "compared to the others" - besides a twinked out late game item forger, it's also pretty much shit. I remember how they tried to spun that moron deus ex machina at the end that sells you Asmodeus "true name" as a romantic interest if you didn't get Aribeth and had a female char. Fucking pathetic.

It's pretty much the same as the others, a continuous dungeon deathmarch, slightly improved by not having the 4 mcguffins to gather in the same area - bioware new designers definition of "nonlinearity" - (IIRC). The "cities" look like dungeons too.

There are good mods, but i never installed that shit game again, so i'm out of it.

seriously I went from BG2 to that and was all "god damn this is hideous"
some really good mods though, but everything other than the toolset is terrible and yes I don't care what you say the original campaign should have been a good example of the toolset's potential rather than an example fullstop.

I could never get into HotU because of the "lol, there goes your equipment" beginning.

Gave up on the OC after retrieving the third ingredient. Didn't help that it was a pain to pirate.

It was really tedious and tiresome to be "exposed" to that "revelation" of Aribeth/Bastila/Jennifer Hale becoming a turncoat for Darth Malak/Maugrim.

Heh, I stil remember how it was described in reviews as BESTEST LOOKING RPG YET when it came out (or second bestest, behind Morrowind. Morrowind's visuals aged a lot better though, obviously.).

Problems, Codex?

I thought it was strangely immersive how the game let you torch random plague-corpses in Neverwinter.

Funny, i thought how un-immersive is that corpses disappear 10 seconds after combat in front of you (even ultima fucking 7 did it better ffs).

LOL that shit is fluff, u shd just choose where to go and be transported to the next fight for one of the three reagents, saves on the filler bullshit and pointless immersion.
