    Sounds like:

    Skyrim = Morrowind + Oblivion.

So, a medicore/ok Elder Scrolls game. Sounds fine to me.

It's funny how the shittiness of Oblivion/Skyrim/F3 makes one think that Morrowind was a great game. It was not. It was a okay-maybe-decent game that still needs a lot of improvement to become a good or great game.

The standard for passable is Morrowind, so why would I play Skyrim, which is worse than passable?

I hope you aren't suggesting that your standard should be the one everyone else uses.

Also, to answer your question: you wouldn't.

so uh, I've been playing this shit and what is up with everyone saying the combat is challenging on highest difficulty? Enemies can't fucking jump, so unless you're fighting a dragon it's just circlestrafe the nearest table while melting faces. Mana regens so fucking fast that you can do this ad nauseam.

edit: and this is only for shit that would instakill you if you went near it anyway. Everything else you can just hacknslashn dead in a couple of seconds. even enemies that have ranged attacks don't seem to use them if they're within a certain distance of you.

mana doesn't regenerate while you're casting or charging up a spell.

I can't wrap my head around the bolded statement. Ok, some non-quest dungeons had stuff like side areas, but quest related dungeons were invariably linear crawls looping onto themselves with a one way shortcut of some kind to prevent player from having to backtrack. How is this anything but fucking linear?

Also, dialogues just can't suck more than they did in oblivion. They are physically unable to.
It's not possible to get any worse than that. Laws of physics forbid it.

As for the TES V:Rimjob, I'm currently listening to the opinions of 'dexers and other disgruntled RPG or TES fans, before deciding whether the game is worth having any contact* with.

I probably wouldn't do even that, but some locations got me interested and so did purported dragon companion and vague promise of not all dragons being enemies.

*) Via physical non-removal. It's technically possible that I end up buying it after that, but I don't think it's realistic to expect bethpizda to make a non-shit game these days, so it'll likely remain a purely theoretical possibility.

I'm sure this will get buried in shit like the other Skyrim topic, but try turning off the compass and quest markers. The shitty psychic compass ruins any sense of exploration, but the game is actually really fucking fun if you turn the compass off and explore everything yourself. It's pretty cool getting to a new area, then climbing a mountain so you can survey the area to see if there's anything worth checking out closer. Obviously, that only works well if you can max out the view distances, though.

Seriously, it's pretty damn fun as an exploration game if you shut off the tard compass completely. Another nice side effect of that is you no longer have the psychic "enemy location" radar, either. Dungeons have scared the shit out of me due to giant spiders jumping on top of me out of nowhere, etc.

    Turn that shit off.

side note: It does make some of the minor quests very difficult without quest markers because they barely give you any info except "Go to this place and do something." If you don't care about wandering a bit, you'll eventually come across the place you're supposed to go, but it's made for markers I'm sure.

Why turn it off? You don't need to blindly follow the compass if you don't want to, and it's useful when you don't remember what were the directions to generic dungeon #126.

    You can stop here.

Except they can. "Hello complete stranger, thank you for delivering my letter. I will now go and die for you". And that's besides CONSTANT "Hey total stranger, here's sword/shield/item that is very dear to me and my family and possibly better than what you carry now can you deliver it to my father/brother/friend".

There's not a single sense of character to Skyrim characters. Just like in previous TES games they are nothing but FedEx quest machines.

Writing in Skyrim is so fucking bland it makes Gaider look like a talented novelist.

Except without it you can find next to nothing because nobody in this game gives you even simple directions. I spent maybe 15-20 minutes looking for Eorlund thinking at first that they mean the blacksmith by the entrance to the city because nobody told me Companions have their own in the backyard which can't just be seen (also had to look for him through the whole guildhouse). It's fucking retarded, in the end I just opened the map where quest compass can't be turned off. What's worse is that characters tend to move along scripted path between two possible locations and you can only guess where they are if not at their own house unless you already know that path.

At best they will mark shit on your map which defeats the whole purpose of exploration.

Codex is easily impressed these days. I mean being surprised by spiders in rooms covered with web that just shout at you "here's the fucking spider will attack you bro!" - it takes very low standards.

I started playing on Expert difficulty, because Adept is incredibly easy and Master is HP bloated out the roof. It seems pretty balanced at the difficulty thus far, exempting the atrocious AI and pathfinding.

This. I mean, if you didn't like oblivion, why waste time playing the sequel? Skyrim was never showing signs of being vastly different.

Maybe it's just my "build" (lol) but I'm having a hard time against many monsters especially. Humans aren't that much difficult, but bears, will-o-whisps, tigers etc give me a very hard time, even when poisoning my weapon, using potion, shouts etc. I'm wearing light armor and use spells plus some minor sword stuff, maybe it's easier to play as a warrior in heavy armor etc?

Anyway, I'm having fun with the game, hated Oblivion, kinda liked Morrowind. I don't give a single fuck if this gives me "KKK" or not. :)

Lots of people trying to be edgy itt, skyway's gonna skyway anyway.

You played it, after all. No, don't come with "I played it just because this way I'll be able to argue better against the retarded fanboys" bullshit. There is no point in playing a game you expect to utterly hate just to build arguments against its fanboys because arguing with blind fanboys and hype suckers to make them realize their stupidity is as fruitful as trying to talk with an amoeba.

And besides having played it you own a Xbawks360.

    skyway, I am really disapoint.
