Unlike Panzer General, Panzer Corps, Age of Rifles or Battle of the Bulge, are there real simultanous turn based wargames where you give orders to your units, but they are executed in the same time with the AI's orders, so that the battle results are not processed until both sides' orders are processed and unexpected encounters are handled?

I'm pretty sure Dominions 4 has simultaneous turns but I've never actually played multiplayer. Frozen Synapse is sort of turn based tactics and has simultaneous turns too.

Ask about wargames and then bitch about graphics. Le sigh. Besides, that is the ancient Combat Mission series. These days it looks like this.

And then there are the Graviteam Tactics games. More akin to an rts but deep and very cool. They also look neat.

I'd think they are some first person shooters. This is how a turn based wargame with beautiful graphics should look like:

Yeah, they look nice. The horror. Check out the other games I mentioned if you want more 'traditional' graphics.

Oh, and there are the Command Ops games. Very solid real time wargames. And, as has been said, Ageod has specialised in this genre. Alea Jacta Est is my personal fav. The Scourge of War games are splendid battlefield simulations. In real time. Waterloo is the last one and rules.

And do check out the Flashpoint games as someone here mentioned as well. Good stuff.

Oh, and there is Panzer Command: Ostfront. A very decent Combat Mission a-like. Ugly as hell but great fun and a massive amount of content.
