Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
The first AdventureGamers review after the site got sold, and it gives it a 4.5/5 :D

Only the owner changed, the people doing reviews and the other stuff there is still the same.

On the other hand, their 4.5/5 review of the new King's Quest does raise suspicion :D

AdventureGamers is the RPGWatch of adventure gaming, avoid like plague
what is the codex of adventure game forum then?

gameboomers?

AdventureGamers' Myst-like reviews have been surprisingly decent and non-popamole iirc. I guess a lot of that depends on the reviewer; plus, perhaps Myst-likes are generally just too much of a niche to be of interest to popamole reviewers.

Not even 4K owners according to Steamspy. Doesn't look good for Daedalic.

So they wasted three years making a wannabe Telltale game to get that Telltale money but instead the game flopped and was ignored or unnoticed by the Telltale crowd? Not surprised.

To my knowledge the only game to succeed in getting the Telltale money is Life Is Strange. Everything else like King's Quest or Silence falls by the wayside because those companies completely misjudge why Telltale games are popular (licensed IPs) and wrongly assume that people play those games because of the minimal challenge (like QTE). Putting QTE in your game and removing thoughtful gameplay will not guarantee success - quite the opposite in fact. It repels people wanting a more challenging, involving game and unless there's a big IP or unique gimmick (like time rewind in Life Is Strange) nobody will notice or care about yet another shallow cinematic modern adventure.
