Found out about this and been playing it for a while (just left Ginza) and so far it seems pretty good.

A lot of "hard" jRPG hacks just make things more tedious and reduce the viable option. This one is (seemingly) not the case. The revised learn-lists and skill rebalances make a lot more demons and build types worthwhile.
Most importantly, it makes some changes to basic mechanics that really make the game worth another go. Instead of demons costing 2 turn presses (one to dismiss, one to summon) so summoning in combat is only worthwhile if something dies, summoning only costs half a turn press and all demons can replace themselves with a different summon. Additionally inactive demons get a fraction of earned experience. Combined these make a full party (instead of 3+that utility thing you buy+a heal battery with the rest of the party being fusion fodder) actually worthwhile.
