    What I personally find most amusing about articles like these is that people still won't miss a chance to gush over Lovecraft... Even though by their logic he'd be worse than Satan.

    It's all in all a stupid thing really. You don't judge writing by how its writer's character, but by the work itself. Frank Miller may be a repugnant troglodyte, but that wasn't why Holy Terror! was unbelievable shit. Similarly, Lovecraft may have had a collection of negative -ists and other character flaws, but his stories were still great.

    I don't know how anyone can miss the lovecraft thing. There's probably, like, two shorts in existence that don't refer to fat-lipped north-africans, filthy slavs or some such allusion.

    Also, if someone actually cared enough about supporting Mr. XYZ's views, then they're ethically-bound to go over the entire staff of the developer, publisher, and associated third-parties with a fine-tooth-comb in order to determine which group is most "damaged" by their decision not to purchase that product.

    His racism showed up in his writing quite a lot. So many references to the yellow menace, Marceline was a negress, the Innsmouth look as a commentary on racial mixing, and so on. Though I think he did eventually see the error in his ways when he had a character go on a negative racist tirade against his self-insert (after said self-insert had been trapped in an alien body).

    Also his stories were not "great.":rpgcodex: He had some interesting ideas, sure, but he wasn't a particularly good writer, as expected from a creepy unemployed loser who lived with his mother/aunts and only had pen pals for friends.
