Yes! His name is John Romero, and he is the co-creator of the Doom series and Quake, among others. He makes me smile all of the time and we are never apart. We play games together, cook together, work together, and he reads to me at night. This is a good thing (tm). People often make gagging noises in our presence. I love him to death!

Why do none of the light switches work in this building?

This was pretty good. Each floor usually boils down to finding a keycard that's required to enter the next floor, which will then spawn more and tougher enemies. But the levels all look and feel different, some have a unique twist, some force you to use more exotic weapons. Lots of explosions. Good music. And it all ends in a climax on the rooftop.


I need more good Duke episodes!

Death Wish 1.4 for Blood.

It's really amazing how much one person - Dustin Twiley aka Bloatoid has put work into this mod. Each level has a great moment or part which shines and overall it feels like something that could be made by original Monolith back in the days. I've put maximum number of enemies, but with more reasonable hp pools just to finally see how many time will I die. No matter what, mini duels between Caleb and monks are very chaotic. Plus we've got TNT and Tesla ones as well from Plasma Pak. Fighting with 20 of them isn't something rare here. You really need to be quick and pick your targets. With the proper timing you can shoot the dynamite mid in the air, or turn their weapons against time. But for the most of the time they are really putting a pressure on you. And let's not forget about fighting stone gargoyles. For the time being, this is the most hard mod for the game.
There are lot of obvious new references, interesting ideas in level design and using the original colour palette in a most effective way possible.
First episode was tough, but the second and third one are the real meat grinders.
