Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
Believe it or not, I never actually managed to finish the damn thing. I tried to, last time few years ago when it was released on GOG, but I remember how I even managed to get my fully upgraded team of killing machines slaughtered in a matter of seconds. Seriously, fuck that mission, it's a bloody Mount Everest of difficulty spikes.

That's how it looks most of the time. I think that you need a lot of luck in that mission due to the enormous number of agents, plus the fact that you are in the open area and can't hide yourself. Apply shields on every agent, shift through it so that they can regenerate a little bit, and keep your fingers crossed that self detonation won't kill your squad. After you survive the beginning it's a lot easier to follow up. You have guards that you can kill if you lack ammo/weapons. You need to be one in charge of the shooting too, less accurate, but when you face agents on that level you don't count bullets. You just shoot until they die, and some of them have time bombs so it's always a plus.

Protip (And be fucking thankful I remember it to this day): Go Inside A Building and Double-Click Your Mouse Buttons.

This is how I beat the Atlantic Accelerator in normal Syndicate. There was a building (can't remember where precisely) where there were two exits, one facing South (if south is down-left) and another facing East (down-right). I retreated into the far corner away (north-west) from those exits and waited. Any enemy agent that tried to go in couldn't react in time to my primed agents gunning the fuck out of him, even if he brought his mates along. This did the trick for 60% of the agents in the mission, and helped me funnel and deal with the initial onslaught of agents in the mission. The agents that didn't behave like cybernetically enhanced lemmings were easy pickings by comparison.

Now try American Revolt

301.gif

Pussy. Want to earn my everlasting respect? (Instead of the general respect I feel for you beforehand.) Beat the Atlantic Accelerator mission in American Revolt.

For those that don't know, the tables in that mission are turned: Your agents are confined to a tiny tower gangwalk somewhere in the middle of the Accelerator, and must destroy a similar onslaught of enemy agents as in the original mission, WITH THE ADDED BONUS OF ENEMY AIRSTRIKES. It's the ultimate form of Pattern Recognition, you must know WHEN to stand in a certain part of the tower for the incoming airstrike to be marked, and then to move to another part of the tower to avoid said airstrike. I could only beat this mission after a friend of mine gave me the few final pointers needed to survive this ordeal. That friend is also the only person I've heard of that has completed the American Revolt expansion pack, and could prove it. (Saw the savegame for myself.) I myself was 3 missions away from beating it, with one of the missing ones being that fucking escort mission in Paraguay or thereabouts. where you have to guide a civvie safely through World War VI.

Took me 15h on Hardcore. Still better than FO4. And despite Obsidian development there are no bugs and story is banalshitboring like every DungSiege game in existence.
If only Djiinn IRL looked like the ones in DS3.

Anyway, finished ROTH again, what an awesome game. Its length and environmental variation still amaze me.

I like this game and I really like this engine. It's the polar opposite of Unity, it looks good in motion and it runs as smooth as shit off a duck's ass.

Won't somebody please use it to create a proper DK clone, thanks in advance.

Just a wee question, since you obviously like ROTH: ya ever played Azrael's Tear? Bit more cumbersome to control that ROTH, and also far lighter on action, but at least for me it scratches the same itch (or one that is placed somewhere close by, in any way).

Yep, I sure have. Though it's good that you reminded me of it because I've never actually finished it.

Just finished Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok as a Warrior. I had a delightful time playing this gem. Took me about 18 hours. I highly recommend this game.

Hey, Thanks SCO for recommending this game to me a while back in the shoutbox. I really enjoyed it and it was really kinda awesome.
