Wesker quickly runs into the previous room and to take the last armor piece as the rest of group makes for the northern door, fleeing from the statue's line of sight. "Wesker, you're running the wrong direction!" Barry shouts. "I might have forgotten to take our share, just a minute!" Wesker replies.

"Damnation", Samuel mumbles.

I get what you're saying about keeping a DC secret, I usually don't tell when it comes to tasks/skills where the character would have no idea what they were doing. For something like climbing, swimming, etc. characters usually have a pretty good idea of how hard the task at hand is going to be - child's play, man's work, etc. But I get it either way.

Cepheus feels the grapple begin to loosen and in a wild panic he makes a desperate leap for the torso of the statue grasping at whatever he can cling to. *I burn 8 points of luck (leaving hapless Cepheus with a single point) raising my piss-poor roll all the way up to 10*

Siegbert and Hob stare up in consternation at the sight of their friend getting whipped around by the pivoting statue. Hob quickly snaps out of his stupor and dives behind the colossus, Siebgert churns his stumpy, deformed legs for all they're worth and charges for the north door while Nicomedes edges back toward the passage they just came from.

"Huh, that can't be good," Heb says before quickly moving to the northern part of the room.

"Yes, very disturbing," Aug answers, but moves to the eastern part of the room in an attempt to not be at the place the statue may point next.

Poul runs to the western part of the room and asks, "Does anyone see any gears or how this thing is turning?" He takes a look at both the base of the statue and the eyes."

"Erp," Slolth says as he unsuccessfully tries to get his crutches together and stands at the southern part of the room. He can't help but stare at the statue's eyes as he prepares to flee. What is that about Poul saying the statue can see?

In their panic, the adventurers started running in different directions in hope that they won't become the target of whatever hellish attacks the monument is about to unleash. Most of them are headed towards the northern door, and the monument's attention seems to be fixed on them, as its finger is now tracking their movements. Arbin took the door by the handle and pulled it open. Almost at the same instant, the monument launched a bolt of fire from its fingertip.

The monument attacks Samuel (1d20+6=11)
Monument's damage vs. Samuel (1d6=1)

The bolt of fire grazed by Samuel's shoulder. Though it wasn't a direct hit, the clothes worn by the wizard's apprentice caught fire immediately. Samuel screams at he was struck by intense heat and pain from the attack.

A few seconds ago, Cepheus was trying desperately to scramble onto the monument as his grappling hook was beginning to fall off. In a display of either incredible agility or improbable luck, the woodcutter managed to avoid falling to his doom by geting hold of a small heave on the monument near its waist. Cepheus' sigh of relief was cut short as he heard the panicked cries of his comrades. Aided by the momentary light radiated from the bolt of fire, Cepheus could just barely see a small hole on the monument's index finger pointed towards near the northern door.

Poul could see that the monument is grounded on a cyclindercial base which rotates along with the monument itself. The monument is so tall that neither Siegbert's lantern nor the bolt of fire could shed enough light on its face; you can't see its eyes.

Meanwhile, those who charged beyond the northern door to escape from the monument found themselves in another massive chamber, even bigger than the one before, though the ceiling is lower. There is a door in the far corner of this chamber. This enormous chamber is filed with a large, rectangular pool of water running the entire length of the room. Diffused light shines upward from the pool, illuminating wide pillars lining the walls. Strangest of all, however, are the man-shaped crystal creatures visible in the shadows. They shuffle about slowly, their strange crystalline bodies sparkling like jewels whenever they catch the light from the pool. The moment you entered the room, all six of them immediately turned to face you. Then, slowly and quietly, the crystal-men started marching towards you, their eerie, crystalline faces devoid of any expression.

Round One
Monument and Crystal-men's intiative rolls (1d20-2=6, 1d20-2=17)
Please announce your characters' actions. Those in the northern chamber should also declare how they wish to deal with the crystal-men.

Though this isn't exactly a typical combat situation, I've decided it's time to start treating this encounter as a combat now. Please roll initiative (use one roll for all your characters).

FYI, here's what the characters are up to now:
Clumped near the northern door: All characters controlled by Alchemist, All characters controlled by Siveon (except Wesker), Siegbert, Hep
Standing in the center of the monument hall: All characters controlled by Don Peste, Slolth
In the southern room (room with 4 statues): Wesker, Nicomedes
Hiding behind the monument: Hob
East part of the monument hall: Aug
West part of the monument hall: Poul

In case the description wasn't clear enough, there's four doors in the monument chamber, one on each wall. Aug and Poul may open the door near them if they wish.

Samuel (the one controlled by Siveon, not the scribe. Why are there two Samuels anyway? ffs) is currently on fire. He'll take 1d6 damage per round. He can put out the fire by spending an entire round doing "stop, drop, and roll," which grants him an opportunity to make a DC 10 Reflex save to put out the fire.

The only active light source you have is Siegbert's lantern... and Samuel.

Note that the crystal-men move very slowly (10' per round). The ones closest to you will close up on you after 1 round.

Initiative roll for Siegbert, Nicomedes, Hob and Cepheus: 1d20=12

EDIT:
(Forgot to declare intent)
Siegbert will raise his pick and charge the first Crystalman that comes near him in an attempt to knock it down.
Hob wil do his best to stay behind the statue, if Cepheus' spear (that he would have had to leave on the ground) is close, he'll try snatch it up without exposing himself to the gaze or pointing finger of the statue.
Cepheus will continue to hold on for dear life, if the grapple is still attached to the statue and the rope is still within reach he'll do his best to grab for it and see if he can better secure it or rethrow it (one-handed) but try to place it higher up the statue.
Nicomedes will hang back just outside the 40'X40' room with the pivoting statue ready to make a break for the surface if shit really hits the fan.

Init roll for Ogin, Gylan and Arbin (applying highest Init bonus from Gylan, as in rulebook): 1d20+2=21

Actions:

Ogin: Assuming there is space to stand in the pool room (how much space between edge of pool and walls?), Ogin enters the room and stands beside the doorway (out of sight from the monument) and prepares to attack the nearest crystal man when it gets close enough. He will not charge into them, but hold his pitchfork at the ready if they approach near him. (Attack: 1d20+1=12; Damage: 1d8+1=3)

Gylan: Enters the pool room and finds a space next to Ogin. He will take a shot at the nearest crystal man with his shortbow. (Attack: 1d20+2=3 = Fumble / automatic miss; Fumble roll: 1d4=3)

Arbin: Enters the pool room finding a space near Ogin and Gylan. He has his staff (walking stick) ready and will desperately strike anything that comes near. (Attack: 1d20-1=14; Damage: 1d4-1=1)

"Well... hell, that's something you don't see every day." Hep sees the incoming danger and joins Ogin, Gylan and Arbin. He sets his spear for the oncoming attack.

Hep init of 3, attack of 10, damage of 6.
1d20=3, 1d20+1=10, 1d6+1=6

Slolth sees Samuel's shoulder get lit up and gives a gurgled "Eek!" He then propels himself quickly north, hoping for safety in numbers. With his sling he fires an ineffective, panicking strike at the incoming crystal men.

1d20-2=15, 1d20-1=7, 1d4=2
Init 15, attack 7, damage 2

Aug also rushes out of the room and next to Hep. Out of breath, he gasps, "The statue... it shoots..." If he is in time for the incoming rush of statues, he will attack with his dagger via a strong lunge fueled by adrenaline.

1d20=19, 1d20=20, 1d4=4
Init of 19, Attack of 20, Damage of 4. This is a possible critical, but I was unsure if Aug would be allowed to attack this round. If so, please roll the crit result for me. I don't have the chart with me right now about crit results

Poul trips up a bit on his way to the group, and because of it he arrives a bit late and too off balance to use his axe. "This is bad... very bad... It's making bear attacks seem normal and fun in comparison."

1d20=5, 1d20=7, 1d6+1=5
Init 5, Attack 7, Damage 5

Siveon's init (1d20+2=15)
DT's init (1d20=14)

Gylan attempted to shoot at the crystal-men approaching. However, being unfamiliar with his shortbow, he not only missed with the attack, but also almost lost grip of the bow. (Gylan takes a -2 penalty to his attack next round)

Samuel Stuart's attack roll (1d20=3)
Samuel Stuart threw his hammer at the monument but missed wildly. He almost accidentally hit Hob with his reckless throw.

Siegbert's attack roll (1d20=10)

When the crystal-men closest to you had come into melee range, Ogin, Arbin and Siegbert were the first to lash out in defense. Siegbert missed with his pick, but Ogin and Arbin both managed to hit, creating small cracks on one of the crystal-men. The strange creature was undeterred by the damage, however, and the two of them close enough to you punched at Samuel and Hep.

Crystal attacks Samuel (1d20+2=4)
Crystal attacks Hep (1d20=5)(note: forgot to add +2 modifier for this roll)
Siegbert's attack roll (1d20=10)
Pobbin attacks crystal (1d20-1=15)
Pobbin's damage vs. crystal (1d4-1=0)

They both missed their attack, however. Siegbert struck at one of the crystal statues with his pick, but also missed. Pobbin was more successful with his club, creating another small crack on the crystal-man. Hep also tried stabbing the creatrue with his spear, but the speartip glided off the smooth surface of the statue without doing any visible damage.

Samuel tries to put out the fire (1d20=7)
Fire damage to Samuel (1d6=1)
Samuel tries desperately to put out the fire, but was sadly unsuccessful. The fire continues to burn the flesh of the unfortunate apprentice. Barry stands frozen in the northern room, paralyzed by fear. Wesker started removing the last suit of scale mail from the statues (This will take 3 rounds).

Hob grabbed Cepheus' spear and quickly ducked back to behind the monument again. Cepheus is desperately holding on for his life, a job made harder by the constant swivelling of the monument.

The grappling hook has fallen off, though Cepheus could ask Hob to retrive it. Alternatively, he could try to climb back down (DC 9). Since he no longer have the grappling hook and the help of his "friends", he will roll d10+3 for the check instead of d20+1. He will only fall off if he rolled a natural 1.

Monument shoots Slolth (1d20+6=26)
Monument's crit roll vs. Slolth (1d4=2)
Monument's damage vs. Slolth (1d6=1)

Aug, Poul and Slolth all made a run for the northern room. Slolth had barely moved two feet when another bolt of fire struck him in the head. The power of the bolt knocked him to the ground, and the poor beggar screamed in pain as he was burning to a cinder.

Round Two
Two crystal-men are currently in melee range. Four more will come into melee range this round. Aug and Poul are not yet in the northern room, but they're getting close. They'll be able to attack the crystal creatures in melee this round.

Your foes:
Crystal-man -5 AC12
5 Undamaged crystal-men

Turn order: Alchemist, DonPeste, crystal-men, Siveon, DT, nikolokolus, monument

Alchemist, there's plenty of space around the pool. The pool is in the center of this chamber and only occupies about a quarter of it.
Deuce Traveler, you're supposed to use a single initiative roll for all your chars.

Gylan will attempt to run around and past the crystal men (his speed is 30) - setting up another bow attack from behind and at short range, against the damaged one. Sadly, he misses once again. (Attack, Damage: 1d20=4, 1d6=3 )

Ogin continues to chip away at the damaged crystal man with his pitchfork: (Attack, Damage: 1d20+1=20, 1d8+1=3 )

Arbin will continue to desperately whack at the same one with his staff: (Attack, Damage: 1d20-1=13, 1d4-1=2 )

Siegbert will "dig deep" and redouble his efforts (i.e. burn 3 points of Luck) and charge the nearest Crystal Man in (+2 to attacks, -2 to AC for the round) 1d20+5 = 17 Damage with his pick = 1d4=4

Back in the room with the statue, Cepheus hollers down to Hob, "You cowardly cur! get out from 'ehind there and help me you snivelling worm! The grapple! The grapple!" Wide-eyed, Hob looks up at the dangling form of Cepheus, swallows hard and quickly snatches up the tail of the rope, squints hard and tosses the grappling hook up toward a pointy bit on the statue that's near enough to Cepheus that he can reach out and grab hold
Hob's Throw: 1d20+1(agility)+2(Luck)=12
Cepheus is holding his action depending on the result of the grappling hook. If Hob is successful, he'll attempt to grab the rope and slide down, if the grappling hook fails then he'll try to climb down without aid.

Nicomedes cowardly peeks through the south door frame to see what the statue is doing, if it's still doing its spinning and whirling he stays out of sight, if it appears otherwise engaged he's going to make a bolt for the north door.

Running Luck Tally:
Hob: 13
Siegbert: 8
Cepheus: 1
Nicomedes: 10

Samuel continues to try and put out the fire whilst screaming in pain, "FUCKING PRICK OF A STATUE - AAAH". While Barry regaining his resolve, runs to Samuel's aid and pours out water from his waterskin, hoping to extinguish the flame. "Y-y-you'll be fine, man, really." Barry whispers.

If there's no water in his waterskin (for any reason), then he'll try and pat down Samuel.

Pobbin, in the midst of the fight tries again to club a Crystal Man.

Wesker, of course, is still scrambling to take* the armor. "That's definitely Samuel back there, oh dear. Come on, come on..." Wesker mutters to himself.

Poul is quite upset at seeing the burned remains and crutches of Slolth. "Damn these things. And damn this place!" In his panic and anger, the woodcutter misses with the swing of his axe.

Aug takes the death a bit better. "Come on, man. It's not like the beggar was ever going to make it through this." He tries to take another stab with his dagger, but he is shaken by the dangers aroung him.

Hep has better luck with a spear thrust. "Gah! Maybe we should just call it quits and get out of here...can't spend treasure if you're dead." His calm demeanor aids his strike against a crystal man.

Ogin's pitchfork struck a crystal-man right in its face. The impact of the strike shattered much of the statue's head, creating several deep cracks. The strange creature fell to its knees and stopped moving. Arbin, seeing that the crystal-man has already fallen, struck his staff at another one, damaging it. Other crystal creatures didn't seem troubled by the "death" of their companion, however, as they continued their march on the party. Five crystal-men now surround you.

Crystal men attack (in this order): Barry, Siegbert, Siegbert, Ogin, Hep (1d20+2=6, 1d20+2=18, 1d20+2=6, 1d20+2=8, 1d20+2=15)
Crystal men's damage vs. Siegbert and Hep (1d4=2, 1d4=1)

The crystal-men punched and kicked at you, but their moves were slow and most of you were able to dodge the attacks. Siegbert and Hep has been hit and slightly wounded.

Monument shoots Bob (1d20+6=20)
Monument's damage vs. Bob (1d6=4)

Rosario, Bob and Timmy finally recovered from the initial panic. Realizing the great danger they are in, the three made a beeline for the northern room, with Samuel Stuart following behind rather reluctantly. Of the four adventurers running north, Bob had the misfortune of being the new target of the monument's bolt of fire. For the next few seconds, Bob was struggling and rolling as he futilely attempted to put out the fire, before the heat and pain drained all his strength. The dungeon under the stars has claimed another life.

Meanwhile, with Barry's help, Samuel was finally able to put out the fire that had been roasting his flesh. The apprentice was covered in scorch marks and could barely stand on his feet, but he lives nevertheless. Pobbin, Poul, Aug and Hep attacked a crystal-man in retaliation, though only Pobbin and Hep managed to hit. The crystal-man stood proud despite having been damaged quite a bit.

Siveon , it will take 3 rounds to remove the scale mail from the statue. Actually donning it will take much longer. For reference, the 3e PHB said that donning a suit of scale takes 4 minutes (2 with assistance of another person), or 1 minute if you don hastily (-1 penalty to AC).

Cepheus climbs down (1d20+1=3)

Nicomedes peeked out of the southern room just in time to see Bob burning to a crisp. The cowardly wainwright gasped and immediately ducked behind a wall. In the monument hall, Hob threw the grappling hook up and once again attached it to the monument. Cepheus tried climbing down with the help of the rope but slipped and almost fell off; he only narrowly managed to avoid falling to his death by grabbing the rope at the last moment. Meanwhile, Siegbert charged bravely at the crystal creature who has already been damaged by Pobbin and Hep's attacks. With a mighty swing, the dwarf sunk his pick deeply into the statue's head. Chips of crystal sprung out all over and the strange creature stopped moving.

Cepheus makes no progress this turn, but he can try again next round.

Round Three
All four remaining crystal-men are currently in melee range. Hob and Cepheus are still in the monument hall. Wesker and Nicomedes are in the southern room. Everyone else is in or near the northern room.

Ogin attempts to strike the damaged crystal-man with his pitchfork but shouts curses as it glances off with no effect (missed) :
Ogin's Attack / Damage: 1d20+1=8, 1d8+1=5

Gylan lets his last arrow fly at the damaged crystal-man, staying at short range from the melee :
Gylan's Attack / damage: 1d20+2=18, 1d6=3 (Note: I accidentally added his Dex bonus to damage on the roller page. Corrected it here - it's 3 damage.)

Arbin gains some confidence after his successful attacks and starts grinning as he continues smashing his walking stick at the crystal things (attacking the damaged one). "I think I'm getting the hang of this!", he exclaims excitedly.
Arbin's Attack / Damage: 1d20-1=14, 1d4-1=3

Siegbert takes note of the Crystal Man that Gylan and Arbin are attacking and maneuvers himself so he can take a swipe. He rolls 1d20=14 and hits for 1d4=3 Damage

Hob looks up fearfully at Cepheus dangling from the statue, decides there's nothing more he can do and bolts for the north door. He calls out over his shoulder, "Sorry Cepheus, I gotta catch up to Ziggy ... you'll do great I'm sure!"

Cepheus swings wildly at the end of the rope as the statue continues to pivot and toss him about, he swallows hard as starts to feel an icy feeling of dread grip his stomach. Unsure that he can hang on for much longer and tries to slide down the rope again. His climbing check: 1d20+1=20

Nicomedes hangs back inside the south door and peeks out again (he's holding his action, waiting to see if the statue tries to zap somebody. If it does then he'll make a bolt for the north door, if not he'll continue to cowardly hang back). "How's everything going?" he shouts into the cavernous room. "I'm guarding our escape route ... everything still looks good back here."

After Wesker finally removes the armor, he dashes towards the northern room holding the armor in front of his face and body, using it as cover. This is quite possibly the stupidest thing I've ever done, he thinks.

Fixed. I'm just gonna take the armor. If this is the third round then he should just be holding onto it, right? If not, well, he's still just trying to take out the armor.

Samuel, in his weakened state stays away from the brawl and throws his dagger at one of the crystal men. Injured, his throw isn't as precise as he wants it to be.
1d20 = 10 1d4 = 3

Barry, seeing that Samuel is staying away from the fight (hopefully safe), charges into the melee. "I'm coming Pobbin!" he shouts.
1d20 + 2 = 15 1d6 = 1
OOC: You add plus 2 to charges, right?

Pobbin, mutters under his breath, "Finally." Then, he swings his club at another adjacent Crystal Man.
1d20 - 1 = 14 1d4 = 2

Samuel Stuart's damage vs. crystal-man (1d4=1)

Ogin once again thrusted his pitchfork at the damaged statue. Though Ogin's opponent dodged his attack this time, its momentary distraction gave Gylan and Arbin the opportunity to land two soild hits on the creature. Arbin damaged its torso with a surprisingly powerful blow from his walking stick, and Gylan's arrow penetrated its head. The crystal-man stopped moving. Tim fired his sling at another crystal-man, but missed. The elderly scribe Samuel Stuart had better luck, damaging the same crystal statue with a dart.

Crystal-men's attacks vs. Samuel, Hep and Siegbert (1d20+2=21, 1d20+2=3, 1d20+2=10)
Crystal-men's damage vs. Samuel and Siegbert (1d4=1, 1d4=1)
Crystal-man's fumble roll (1d4=3) (-2 penalty to next attack roll)

The three remaining crystal creatures attacked in frenzy. With an skillful evasion, Hep was able to not only dodge a blow, but also throw the crystal-man attacking him off-balance. The others were less fortunate. Samuel, who has barely recovered from the fireburns, was caught off-guard by a crystal-man, who broke Samuel's spine with a mighty blow. The damage was too much for Samuel and the poor apprentice dropped dead. Siegbert also took another bruise, though it's not nearly as bad as Samuel's. Samuel was soon avenged by the combined efforts of Barry, Pobbin, Aug, Poul and Hep, ending with Hep felling Samuel's killer with another precise thrust of a spear. Siegbert also hit another crystal statue with his pick, damaging it.

Monument shoots Hob (1d20+6=16)
Monument's damage vs. Hob (1d6=2)

Holding onto the rope with all his strength, Cepheus was finally able to get down by sliding along the rope. No sooner than Cepheus set his feet on solid ground he heard another scream as Hob was struck by another one of those dreaded firebolts. Though the halfling isn't dead yet, his clothes has caught fire. Meanwhile, Nicomedes dashed out of the southern room, running towards the northern door while Wesker has just finished removing the last suit of armor from the statue.

Hob hurtles through the door where all of the noise and shouting is coming from, "Ziggy! my arse is alight! Put it out! Put it out! Ack!" he squeals trying futilely to pat himself down. He spots the large pool of water and heedless of whatever dangers might lurk within, does a cannonball.

Siegbert briefly wheels around at the sound of Hob's voice, his eyes widen at the sight of his only friend, now a streaking blur of smoke and flame. "Shee-it laddie, I cannae do anythin' fer ye." He quickly regains his composure and charges (+2 to Hit -2 AC) the damaged crystalman.

Nicomedes follows on the smoldering heels of the flaming halfling and pulls up just as he enters the chamber (I assume I needed to use my action in addition to my normal 30' move to get all the way across statue room?)

Cepheus curses under his breath, "Gods' bones, I'll kill that halfman fer leaving me." hugging the wall as best he can, he makes a dash for the door leading to the chamber with the rest of his comrades.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
Aug can't help but flinch at the death occurring around him as he asks, "Did someone mention this being a bad idea yet?" Still, the man's blow struck true.

Critical hit! 20 hit, 3 damage
1d20=20, 1d4=3
Please roll the critical hit effect for me.

Poul retorted, "A few of us may have before talks of treasure started being bandied about the campfire." Poul's own strike with his hand-axe wasn't as good as Aug's, but was more damaging.

17 hit, 6 damage.
1d20=17, 1d6+1=6

"I'm sorry, what was that? I can hardly hear you over all the screams of the dying," quipped Hep as he also struck well and hard.

17 hit, 7 damage with spear.
1d20+1=17, 1d6+1=7
All characters managed to hit this time!

Deuce Traveler there's a really handy chart here, that should really help you out, assuming you want to determine your own fumble and crit rolls. After 0-level play, then you'll probably want this for reference

Ogin musters all his might to thrust his pitchfork at the nearest crystal-man - but completely misjudged the distance in the increasingly chaotic melee, and stumbles forward, flat on the ground (prone).
Attack, damage: 1d20+1=2, 1d8+1=9 He fumbled with a natural 1, so Fumble roll is: 1d12=5

Gylan is out of arrows, and so he switches to his his staff and advances upon the nearest crystal-man. He cannot seem to get a good position and swings wildly at the air, missing his target.
Attack, damage: 1d20-2=2, 1d4-2=2

Arbin almost starts laughing with glee as he continues his lucky streak and follows through on another strike against the crystal man:
Attack, damage: 1d20-1=12, 1d4-1=2
