This will be a historically relevant thread where future generations will see what we thought RPG games would look like in their time, 50 years from today.

What are your predictions and what would you like to see

In 50 years there will be big money in "We Can Play It For You Wholesale". You can pay people who will find the newest games, install them and play them for you, and transfer the memories of it to your brain.

In 50 years I predict we'll be playing pnp rpgs in the burned out remains of post-apocalypse civilization. In between dodging cannibal mutant bands, of course.

Virtual Reality and Virtuarooms will be much more viable technology, and those things will be able to integrate with the new full-sized and fully anatomic Sex Doll controllers. And so, the rpgs of tomorrow will be all about choosing which traits you and your sex doll partner have. And by traits, I mean personality traits and appearance traits, as well as a handful of household task skills. Once character generation is complete, you will set about decorating your house with curtains and various available cheap knick knacks, many with movie or corporate tie-ins, and periodically you will have to go to work, where you will perform a set of mini games for virtual money, which you can then use to purchase more knick-knacks for your home and clothing for yourself and your virtual sex doll mate. You will also be able to pretend to have sex with any number of your co-workers, which your sex doll controller can also be used to represent, or you can purchase additional controllers of different sizes and shapes to represent them. And by different sizes and shapes, I mean different sizes and shapes of holes. There will be no endgame to these rpgs, of course, just an endless series of mundane tasks called quests that are randomly assigned each actual IRL day. Tasks such as going around the virtual neighborhood going through people's trash for "gems", which quests will net you points which you can use to improve your or your partner's life skills. Various DLC will be based around acquiring nerd hero clothing, such as Blade's gear, as well as more elaborate hair and makeup options.

And since there's a thread on this site where a number of Codexiand declare The Sims to not only be an rpg, but a better rpg than most rpgs, you know that the then 70-80 year old Codexians are going to absolutely love these games. If they can still get it up, I mean.

You will have died of old age 40 years earlier, though.

In 50 years time, for adventure and the exercise of the imagination, RPGs will provide all that anyone could desire. They'll be the end-product of that striving for realism which began when man started to reproduce moving images and to record sounds, and then to use these techniques to enact scenes from real or imaginary life. In these RPGs, the illusion will be perfect because all the sense-impressions involved will be fed directly into the mind and any conflicting sensations would be diverted. The entranced spectator will be cut-off from reality for as long as the adventure lasts; it will be as if he lives a dream yet believes he is awake.

Scary but incredibly likely, I wonder what the social consequences of this will be. I always think it's fucked up that older generations had to live in a harsh unforgiving world while modern generations live increasingly comfortable lives and are extremely complacent about it. People will become even more shallow and divorce rates will hit 80-90%, mark my words, automation may lead to universal basic income which will just make these problems worse.

RPG romances will be real through the use of genital stimulants on your gamepad. You can feel that gender neutral waifu sucking your cock which you spent 3 hours designing in Character Creation.

Sorry, mouse and keyboard setup for mainstream games died out sometime in late 2020s, along with the concept of "personal computer" following in early 2030s. Cranium implants have a wireless connection to your personal virtual reality room.

There is a niche community that still plays retro PCs and games for that platform going by the name of Kodexia. It's mostly composed of bums and virgins who can't afford a gamepad with integrated synthetic genitalia.
