I knew someday I would cool that ice, Devereaux!

That didn't really go where I was hoping.

I originally paid 20 bucks for this game, so it better not be a suicide mission.

There was one other thing I remembered from playing the secret missions that I didn't mention. It's defending the Tiger's Claw in a scramble mission that was so heinous I almost gave up! I fear this has to be it, unless I am thinking of the second group of secret missions.

It's really hard to just jump in and start shooting. So far my fears look to be coming true, though. I got killed fairly quickly. I'll keep trying, though.

These scrambles are a pain. If you don't move quick they will take down the carrier. This time they are already at point blank blasting away by the time I get out of the launch bay.

The other thing that can happen is running into the carrier, or even blowing it up yourself.

Iceman downed 4. He is a big help as a wingman. Especially on a mission like this one where every second counts.

In the end it went pretty smoothly. All three wings went down. The Tiger's Claw put out constant distress signals, and a couple of times the "the tigers claw's destruction" music started to play but I was still victorious.

I even got a medal!

I am not sure what the logic behind the medals is. I've only gotten two the entire campaign in spite of the missions being way harder than in the Vega campaign.

Still climbing up the kill board.

Time to buy a final round of drinks. I think the next mission will be the last!

Wing Commander was the first game I ever played. 7 or 8 y/o. 386 sx/20 with 4 mb RAM and VGa. I got a 2-button joystick for Xmas. Omg.

I was so young, I couldn't figure out anything besides the simulator for a year. And then another year for autopilot.

I'm glad a few people are enjoying the let's play. WC series is my first try. I also did one for the original Wing Commander.

Looks like Shotglass will finally get some juicy justice.

Iceman has a kind of Han Solo feel to him.

Knight is another story. More than a bit 'careful' if you know what I mean.

Oh for....

I was certain this would be the final assault on the Sivar, but looks like another strike mission.

Multiple heavy fighter waves and a destroyer comprised the strike force.

Some krants joined in, too, but they were no match for me. A pretty strightfoward mission, really.

I was disappointed in the mission, being too easy. I should have known. I step out for just a few minutes and the whole world goes to pot!

I got a little too aggressive and rammed into one of the gratha and died. Yet again.

Altogether, it is quite a mission I guess. 17 kills total for me. Even knight got a couple this time.

That blows way past my kill count for the last campaign.

It's funny because even though you interact with them on a very limited scale, all the characters seemed very real and different in these games. Bossman seems like the solid family man type. I even named a puppy after him recently.

One more look in the mirror, and it's off to the last mission.

Isn't this what Nimitz did at Midway? I am not sure about that. At any rate he is changing things up a bit for a change. Going all out for the final mission.

I have to say I am more caught up in this than I should be. I realized that Spirit is not here...but then perhaps her spirit is. So it's kind of a fitting callname I guess.

It's been a long road getting here. Much swearing involved in some missions, sweat, and feelings of elation after winning particularly difficult battles but it's time to draw things to a close.

It's interesting that the storylines of the two expansion packs ended up being more important/related to the plot of Wing Commander 2 than the main campaign's was.

Might be due to the fact that the expansion packs were developed after WC2's main storyline had already been conceived, so they ended up being "tie-ins".
